Go back a few years, dig up a Sione Pouha thread, insert Ducasse's name... deJaVue all over again. Ducasse has come from a small program, that is a fact. Pouha came from Utah, only a couple of notches better than UMass. Both had the project label. Both had all the measurables and the potential. Both drafted as known projects. Back in the day I was one of the VERY few saying Pouha would eventually pay off. His knee injury in TC his second year set him back, but it sure is a blessing that most of the posters on this board back then didn't get what they wanted... seeing Pouha get cut. Ducasse played LT in college against pretty poor competition for the most part. He makes two big jumps... LG and the NFL. In college, both of these players got by with their strength and size. Technique for both of them was awful. That takes some time to fix. I said it about Pouha and I'll say it about Ducasse. They both need(ed) coaching and time to develop. Ducasse is going to be a very good NFL lineman some day. Maybe even by next year. Now, McKnight on the other hand....
I'll tell you what, I can't believe a rookie isn't starting on the best offensive line in football. Fucken scouting department is terrible, especially cause Slauson is beating out Vlad. Can you guys believe Slauson is a starter and was drafted late last year?
Is in the same boat who came from a much, much larger school. Both projects. I'm doing this for those who don't know.
LOL... you know it was tongue in cheek. I hope McKnight becomes a valuable asset. Hope... hope... hope...
Are people really giving up on a D2 project 6 weeks into his 1st season? Even just after Shonn Greene was even an inactive early one last year....wow, jump the gun much? Have some damn patience. What are we gonna do, cut him for another roster filler like Marcus Dixon?
With Halloween just around the corner all the kids are buying their masks. Best seller this year? Vlad Ducasse masks.
Good trade. And this will save us our first and second round picks, which we need to trade for Danny Woodhead.
