I agree 100% As far as him addressing player safety concerns - I don't have an issue with that per se but that means more penalties and more opportunities for refs to blow games. I think refs need to be more accountable somehow.
If this guy is so concerned about player health/safety I have two words for you...... 18 game schedule..... That is like a giant cock in the proverbial players asses.
Its extremely rare for a referee to be the sole reason a game has been lost for a team. I don't believe in blaming them. Its a cheap scapegoat for fans on the losing side. What could be done is leave less to their interpretation, and make the situations more black and white. That's the difficulty of a football official - most of their calls are judgment calls. If certain crews call a certain way, or if the NFL is asking for things to be called a certain way, its on their heads.
Yeah, I realize that. That call in the Houston-KC last week might very well have cost KC the win though. "Blowing a game" might be an exaggeration but any game that refs taint with excessive bad calls is completely ruined for me, regardless of the outcome.
i have said it many times in the past and i will continue. roger goodell will ruin the league we once loved.
