It's great to see Barton back in uniform. We missed him badly last year as he was our best defensive player in 2004. He has been the forgotten man but his return will be a big boost to the D.

I would argue that he wasn't our best defensive player, but he was obviously one of our two vocal leaders on defense. It will be nice to have his hard nosed play and his tenacity back.

Just a thought. I heard in that Randy Lange chat he said he saw Vilma and Barton as the two ILB's. I think that could be a really good inside. What do you all think?

He was definitely the emotional leader of our D, the other candidats for best D player in '04 were Ellis and Robertson and i think barton did more than anyone which is why I think he was our best D player. As good as Vilma was as a rookie Barton was better.

Why is there a poll on this? It was already reported that Barton picked off Clemens back-to-back times.
