It seems to me that the communication continues to be an issue for the Jets secondary. Revis letting Lewis go on that one play with him just wide open, I assume he was expecting help.

Cromartie mad at Leonhard for not getting over on the Moss TD, you could see Leonhard coming but too late.

The delayed blitz on that play was part of the problem, wonder if that was a coach's decision or on Pool. Favre saw it immediately.

Leonhard on Harvin? Mismatch, they really didn't think that would work did they?

The Jets D just looks off, no where near as good as last year in some instances. Is it just cohesiveness? Scheme being figured out by teams? Or just the moving, changing parts of the secondary? Hope they get it fixed soon.

Last years Jets D was very rare. This year, we have some new players added to the D and of course they are having some communication Issues, but ct them a break. The D did win us the game

I honestly think it starts with Revis, the guy missed all of TC because he had to get paid so nobody had a chance to get on the same page with him. Now he is banged up and the team still hasn't had a chance to get on the same page. Pool was also hurt early on so he is learning the system as is Cromartie. Wilson is a rookie so he has the added curve of learing the system as well as taking rookie beatings. All that being said I'm much more confident with our D making plays then I ever was last year.

First off that Moss TD couldn't be defended, it was the perfect throw. Leonard was on Harvin because they were in zone not man. It amazes me to no end how people on here continually question plays and have no idea whats going on.

Thank god we have genius people like you to point us in the right direction.

That doesn't explain all the times WRs were wide open last night and Favre just missed them.

It is possible to play a man zone combo. But I guess you know all the defensive calls so I am wrong. Thank you Pettine for clearing that up.

That blitz on the moss TD gave me nightmares of Kerry Rhodes. He was coming from 15 yards back. If you mistime your blitz that badly you should just drop back into some type of coverage because your useless as a blitzer.

That's why we have byes. To sort out all these little miscues that inevitably happen early in the season.

Our D was perfect in the first half. Favre figured some things out and we got a little tired and thats when the miscues happen. Our D will come together as the year goes on. Remember how late last year was when our D really kicked it into high gear.

We're all forgetting that we added 2 new starters on the secondary this year; Pool and Cromartie. You can throw in Wilson there as a new starter too when Revis isn't in. Thats another reason why I think Coleman/Lowery are seeing more playing time than Wilson is because they need someone who knows the system.

Anyway, I was quietly concerned that we were going to have growing pains in the secondary this year. Nevertheless, ousting Rhodes and Lito this past offseason was still the right choice to make. If the new offense with Holmes and our rebuilt secondary can turn it on in the 2nd half of the season, we're going to be great.

And with all of our current flaws were 4-1 this year...how about them apples?

Interesting note on Harvin's 34-yd TD: Looked like Leonhard & Wilson weren't on same page before snap. #nfl #nyj #jets

Moss took Pool out of the play. Favre made great throw to a spot for Harvin, who beat Revis on crossing route. #nfl #nyj #jets

Looks like K. Wilson was out of position on Harvin's 34-yd TD on @Revis24. KW cheated on Schiancoe, who was covered by Leonhard on play #nfl

If Shaun Ellis hadn't caused Favre to throw high to Harvin on 2&10 with 1:43 left we'd probably be a lot more pissed off about the def. backfield. Revis was tossed like a rag doll out of the play, and Harvin had lots of yards ahead if he catches the ball on the run.

Offsides made it 3rd&5. Next play was Lowery's int. helped by a delayed blitz by Cole. But if Favre had hooked up with Harvin on that 2&10 pass...the game might have ended shitty.

Thank you Shaun Ellis...all 6'5" of you.

    haha great post.

On the Lowery INT, he got through the OL which made Favre take a step towards Cole's blitz, which made Favre hurry the throw to Shiancoe. This game is such a beautiful orchestra when all the pieces do their job.

Ellis played maybe his best game of the season. I honestly think he should go into the ring of honor. 10+ years of consistent dominance on this team and has never slowed.

When he retires I'm getting his jersey (I only buy them when they leave. Its cheaper and I can't jinx them)
