I know he's been amazing for us so far, but holy shit he used to be good: This just got me pumped and I had to post it.
I love the fact that he's on our team. The guy has been playing with a shit load of pride and a chip on his shoulder. I knew he wasn't done yet when most people other than Jet fans had wrote him off. The guys a monster. He's a huge reason for our offensive success so far.
Remember that juke LT put on Ty Law a few years back? I thought that was one of the most embarrassing things i've ever seen. Tomlinson doesn't have the agility he once had, but he's got the heart and the drive.
LT was incredible ... and still looks like he has some gas left in the tank ... But, Holy Crap ... :40 in ... Tim Dwight (I think) passes him like he's standing still! That guy was freakin' fast!
That stiff arm in OT at Washington a couple of years ago was epic. I was dropping my boy back at home in Astoria after a home game and we stopped at a bar to watch the rest of the 4 o'clock games and saw that play, and we were both like Holy Fucking Shit!! Threw him to the ground like a rag doll. Good eyes on the Dwight play. What a fucking block. Bet Tomlinson took him out for a steak dinner after that shit. Think this is the week Tomlinson throws his first TD for us? Some guy was trying to tell me in the parking lot before the Pats game that losing Jones would be a season killer for us. I looked at him (and trying to be nice) and said, do you know a fucking thing about this team or the sport of football? I said not only is that not even remotely true, he's gonna hurt the Chiefs because Jamaal Charles should be getting the ball at least 25 times a game.
He still seems to have a lot of those moves. I don't think he could break some of those longer td runs anymore but how many backs in the league could ever do that? He is a treat to watch and I hope that he can stay healthy all year.
Curtis was 31 in 2004 (born 1973) when he won the rushing title LT is 31 (born 1979) he should have a few more years in the league
Watching the video's LT had an extra gear and elusiveness that was amazing. I think we all can see that he isn't the guy that can pull away like he used to. He is still damn good though.
I've actually been thinking about this. In Week 3 last year Schotty called a HB pass from Leon to Sanchez that got called back on a holding penalty. At 1:50 in this clip you see the same play from LT to Brees. Not that I advocate putting the fate of our possible franchise QB in the hands of a lurking safety, but if the situation is right I don't think its out of the question.
Way to go. You know Schotty may be reading this... Seriously though. Anyone else wondering how a team who drafted Brees and LT in the same draft didn't become a dynasty? And now they've got Rivers, Matthews, plus loads of talent all over. If the Chargers don't win a SB in the next decade, Jets fans will have absolutely nothing to b*tch about. Ever.
