Does anyone know what number Flash Gordon was when he was the QB for the Jets?

He didnt say. When he introduces himself to Dale its just Flash Gordon QB NY Jets and the t-shirt that he wore just had Jets written on it.

If that is the case, if he did have a number what would it be. I am purchasing a personalized jersey for my buddy and I need a number to put on it.

Blitz do you go to the patriots forums too? Or is it just the Bills and Jets?

He didn't wear a number, only a teeshirt. I don't know, how about 9? You figure QB's are between 1-20

So 12 is the only retired number?

I think he will be number 13 on the Jersey. The cursed #13. :) Hey I'm a Bills fan what can you expect?

    Thank you for your insight.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it can't be 10 or 14 either. 10 was worn by Pat Ryan and 14 was Richard Todd, both QB's in 1980 when the film was released. If you want to get technical, they wouldnt have had the rights to put those numbers on the jersey either.

Namath (12) was retired in 1985 and I believe Maynard was in '87 (13), the movie came out in 1980, so at the time, both numbers was still available

So that being the case, and considering Flash was written in the 70's, I could almost guarentee that Flash would have worn 12 because of Namath.

Like I said, as long as he wasn't wearing 10 or 14, he'd be ok. It was written in the 70's, but it was out in 1980, so the only Jerseys it could not be is 10 or 14

Scratch 17 as well... if it was written in the late 70's then Matt Robinson was our QB and he wore 17... ok, so for legal purposes, Flash could not have worn 10, 14 or 17.... 12 or 13 if you want to show respect today
