Well you're comparing him with Revis who is the best. A lot of corners don't do that and it is one of the reasons that makes Revis good at what he does. So I'm not expecting miracles in Wilson's first year. I actually love the way Wilson tackles. It isn't sloppy, he delivers nice clean hits and wraps up with strength and power.

Revis, had the same problem the first 8 games he played. I distinctly remember screaming," turn around" numerous occasions his rookie year. Revis mentioned this as a big adjustment in his rookie year. Something just clicked for him, I think around game 8 or so.

Thankfully both of these players have the hips/athletic ability to turn around while the ball is in the air. You will be surprised how few have the ability to do that.

like Puck said. Revis flaw as a rook was not having his head turned once the ball was in the air. Wilson can cover his ass off its a matter of developing his field awareness. more play time and film study will turn him into a shutdown corner in a yr or two. hes already proven why he was picked. jus needs to keep developing. one thing i have noticed though. as physical as he is he needs to be wrapping up his tackles more. as hard as he hits for his size as soon as he locks those arms under their waist he will light people up. also happy to see him returning. in due time he will give us one of those nasty returns we saw at BSU.

he has the physical tools. especially his hips. crazy transitions on cuts. kids still a rook he will only get better.

Wilson got his head around on the pass breakup. That will be a natural skill the longer he's in the league. He is gong to be very good. I guarantee it.

I completely agree here...... Revis as a rookie was a more polished tackler than Wilson. That is a good point.

Wilson can cover like crazy tho.

It's pretty simple guys, he was the missing link last year. No secondary is complete without a guy sportin braids or dreads.

    Top defenses (imo):

    Packers - Al Harris
    Ravens - Lardarius Webb
Steelers - William Gay, also Polamalu
    49ers - Dashon Goldson
and now the Jets have Kyle Wilson

    I rest my case.

Other than the missed QB sack I don't remember any other tackles Wilson has failed on. Usually when I see Wilson tackle he gets his man and wraps up good. Are there any instances where you see him use bad technique as you state? Specific instances, or periods in games?

If he continues to steadily improve at the current rate, he'll be in the exact path that Revis took. I love this kid's burst, and his use of his hands to disrupt the catch is natural.

I loved how he defended that big TE the Pats drafted, Gronkowski - he played bigger than he was, showed no intimidation and just got into position. Revis does it at an elite level. If the Jets can't get Cro to come back on the cheap, it's Revis-Wilson in 2011. And that could turn out to be a much better combo than Revis-Cromartie.

Wrong, that's why he missed him in the first place, instead of going high he should have aimed for Brady's lower/mid back area with his shoulder pads & at the same time while driving through him rip Brady's arms away from his body this way Brady can't duck & have him fly over him (like he did). Sacking Brady this way would likely lead to a fumble & cause him to get face planted because he won't be able to put his hands in front of him to break his fall.

He did a real good job and in the next 2 weeks with Revis out where going to need him to step up big and play like he did against the cheatriots.

Polamalu doesn't have braids or dreads.

Yeah in the second half he rendered Welker almost useless.

Wayne Chrebet never got rendered useless by a rookie with dreads. It even says so in next years yearbook.

True, but he does have crazy hair coming out of his helmet. And I did classify him as an also.

Prediction: Cromartie doesn't stay with the team. Kyle Wilson assumes #2 CB roll in our roster after this season.

THIS! It's probably a bit overwhelming, especially with the big spotlight on him. I don't doubt he will get better at turning his head!

A rookie in his first game against an All-Pro caliber WR who wasn't even on Boldin the whole time.

After 6 posts I can tell that you are a pathetic troll that knows absolutely nothing about football.

LOL...I guarantee that I know more football than 95% of you guys. I actually watch other teams and am objective. You guys think the Jets are SB bound which is a joke. The Fins biggest threat is the Pats. The Jets have a bunch of over-the-hill players and a fat coach who pumps up the ego of his average team. It's basically the same team that Mangini had...but b/c Ryan likes to overload and blitz and you added Dirty Sanchez...all of a sudden you're SB caliber??? Please!!!!
