Fill in the win totals if you disagree:

Assuming Pennington is 110% rehabilitated and back to his old self... which may be unlikely but humor me...

    Pennington for 16 games = 10 wins
    Ramsey for 16 games = 7 wins
    Clemens for 16 games = 3 wins

Pennington for 10 games, Ramsey for 6 = 8 wins
Ramsey for 10 games, Pennington for 6 = 7 wins
    Pennington/Ramsey for 10 games, Clemens for 6 = 5 wins
    Clemens for 10 games, Pennington/Ramsey for 6 = 4 wins

I think that Pennington gives us the best chance to try to win our division... which I think will be the weakest the AFC East has been in a long time this year. I DO NOT believe the hype around the Dolphins and the Pats have consistently lost veteran leadership over the past 3 seasons, eventually it WILL catch up to them, and I think it happens this year. I think that 9-10 wins can win our division this year.

The Pats have lost Vetran players AND coaches every year for the past few years.. and they still keep winning. I don't buy the hype around the fins this year, but I think they have improved some from last year. The Bills and Jets will battle for the bottom of the division no matter who is starting at QB for us.

Even if Pennington is "110 %" as you put it -- I don't see us winning more than 6 games this year. We have a very young team, a Coaching staff with ZERO experience, and we are instating a new defensive scheme. I would be very happy with six wins.

But I would say that a HEALTHY Penny gives us the best chance to win.

If Chad pennington is 100% and back to his 2004 days we will go 10-6 or 11-5or 12-4. If Chad sucks and Ramsey starts he will go 7-9 or 8-8. If Ramsey sucks and Bollinger has to play we will go 6-10 or 5-11. That what i think would happen. I think the Jets win their Divison and go 11-5 or 12-4 and maybe win the super bowl.

If Pennington is 100% healthy, he gives this team the best chance to compete this year. Clemons simply won't be ready, and FRamsey is, well, Ramsey. He's a competent QB, but I don't believe he's a guy who can lead this team. Chad can.

I agree 100% great post.Ramsey is unproven and we all know anything can happen. But it usually does not favor the Jets.

We would win a total of zero games with Kingsbury at QB.

I am saying it - No one knows what we have in Patrick Ramsey. Even after this year I don't think we will know what we have in Ramsey. Unless he gets an opportunity to start with some legitimate weapons and protection it isn't possible to gauge his effectiveness. The same goes for any other QB on our roster.

While I'm putting in my 2cents - it's very optimistic to believe that Penny even at a 110% would lead us to a winning record. Martin, Coles and Baker working behind a line that has to grow/gel doesn't scare anybody's defense.

Well, being cautiously optimistic, I think that the recipe for sucess in the NFL goes way beyond who's at QB. I truly believe that desire and focus (along with some luck) is often what seperates the winners from the losers. Coach to the teams strenghts, instill a determination to win, incourage dominance at each position, and great things can happen. Many of our players are not so far removed from being a contending team. Have they forgotten what it takes to win? My guess is that Chad gets us 9 wins, and earns the team and himself a ton of respect.

I dunno, I think Ramsey and Bollinger would each give you a chance to win every game they start, but each would end up costing the team about 2-3 games in a season. Pennington gives you a chance to win every start and pulls 2-3 wins out his ass to support the team if it's lacking elsewhere.

So, yes, a 100% Pennington is the best option.

Clemens isn't in a position to start this year.

If Lindsay Lohan was my girlfriend then all my buddies would be jealous...which may be unlikely but humor me...

Jealousy rating if Lindsay Lohan is my Girlfriend: 100
Jealousy rating of my actual girlfriend : 75
Jealousy rating of that fat pig i screwed after work for a few months:10

I think that Lindsay Lohan gives me the best chance at making my friends jealous.

Oddly enough ? this is more along the lines I was thinking.

If you read the Jets forum in the off season you are 84% more likely to find a stupid post than in season. Assuming post whores need to post once an hour each day of each year and twice an hour on Sundays coupled with the fact that posts in the bullshit forum do not count only stands to prolong the time taken for a poster to make the much desired ?Looky Looky its my 10,000,000,000 post? to the joy of all other posters resulting in much smilies and congratulations.

Taking this into consideration not reading the Jets forum would seemingly make you 84% less likely to read and then be drawn into a stupid post and therefore 42% less likely to get banned by calling another poster a bad name or otherwise personally attacking someone (assuming that on average instinct is to call someone a retard in half of the stupid posts you read).

Saying so ? I would have to say that I disagree with the assumptions and gestimates outlined in this post; here is the way I see it.

If Chad has a 22% chance of being 110% than there is a 43% chance that he will start all at least 14 games (87.5% of the games). Of the started games we our chances of victory assuming at least 107% of healthyness rise by 8% per quarter played; if 100% of the quarters are played chance of victory rises 32%. Assuming a base chance of 20% we would have a 52% chance of victory which would mean that we are more likely to win than to lose?not so fast; we didn?t calculate the Jets Jinx and the new coach and staff factors which reduce our chances of victory by 13% bringing that chance of victory back down to 39%. So in 39% of the games ? which would be about 6.25 games we are guaranteed to win every time, 60% of the time.

If Chad stays healthy ? it could be an interesting season.
