It doesn't sound like Rex Ryan today again predicted we'd be in this year's SB. That's too bad, because I don't care about all the other bullshit. I just want to know if we're going to be in the SB. I need to hear that and also that we're going to kick the Patriots' asses on Sunday. You can keep all this other talk.
I'm pretty sure loading the box is what Cromartie was thinking about while he should have been thinking of covering guys and not taking penalties.
There's one thing about Ryan putting Wilson 1-on-1 on Boldin that I like. It means that he really thinks the rookie has some stones. He was wrong last night but his confidence in Wilson was something I took away from the game. Ryan knows cornerbacks.
I suspect Rex suffers from the same drawback that most Defensive specialist coaches suffer from, Belief that all the offense has to do is not lose the game in order to win when they first become head coaches and therefore have overly conservative offenses. Marty Schottenheimer suffered from that horribly when he was with the Chiefs and would stifle his offense. Most eventually figure out that the offense needs to be as aggressive as the Defense, but just not make stupid or foolish plays. It would not surprise me in the slightest if Rex throttled the offense and overstressed not losing the game. Winning the turnover battle is a key to winning, but only if your aggressive enough on offense to take advantage of the turnovers.
The kid is going to be a damn good corner, but rookie CBs always get burned their 1st year. Its a shame he was a part of momentum gainers for the Ravens.
His coverage was pretty tight for the most part. His big problem was not turning around to the ball. Revis had the same exact problem when he came into the league. I remember screaming," turn around.", more than once in Revis's rookie year. Revis said as much in an interview. In the next month(s) or so the game will slow down for him and you will see Wilson improve in front of our eyes. I really have a good feeling about this kid. He is going to be a good player. For all of his mistakes, he can still cover. Turning on the ball you can teach. Sticking close to a physically dominant WR in your first game, not so much.
Wilson is a rookie, but I like what I am seeing, despite his mistakes. Covering a WR like Boldin, man, that is a tough assignment for a DB's first NFL game. Holding on 3rd and 28 was more than painful, it made my eyes bleed, but he'll never make that mistake again. I think he will be a good one.
I was really glad to hear Rex give the fans the credit they deserve. That stadium was rocking from the beginning of the game, right up until that last offensive drive. Hopefully, they don't lose their enthusiasm this Sunday. I know I won't.
And the game is still moving pretty fast for him. It'll take till the bye week before he really hits stride. All he needs is a feel for the speed of the NFL. That was the same thing about Revis' rookie year.
I was watching the game with my uncle and the whole time we knew every third down they would throw it to boldin for first down basically. All the ravens did was move boldin on key plays. No reason revis should of been on only outside. Saying that i still have faith in Rex and every coach makes bad decisions. I think our offense was bad but not as much as people think. A few drops on third down is what killed it. We avg like 4 ypr and would of had more but keep dropping ball when on 3rd down to end drives. I expect this to get fixed esp since cotch almost never drops the ball. What i fear is that we will overcompensate and turn the ball over 3 or 4 times against the pats. Then again there defense is awful so after playing the ravens should look like little league .
Kyle Wilson can run with them, he just needs to turn his head around once the receiver is running side by side with him. I hate to see CBs reaching. I'd rather a guy turn his head around and get beat than a guy acting as if he is trying to catch-up to the WR when he is only two feet in front of them.
Now that Moss is healthy, and the Pats have Welker, unlike game 2 when the Jets barely won. The second Matchup like 31-13 is more like what the Jets will see this Time. All your shit talking, don't back down from it, only after 1 game a true coward does that. Like the Bully in school, BEAT his Fat ASS and make him your Bitch. The Pats and the NFL have heard nothing but Bravado from the Jets. Gauranteeing a Super Bowl after backing in last year. The Ass wipping is coming to NEW JERSEY. Feel bad for Kris Jenkins a Great Player.
lol. we had less talent last year when we won, and sanchez had the ultimate turnover extravaganza. Congrats on last years 31-13 win with all those turnovers.
You know...take away HALF those defensive penalties and in this particular game he is right! Now I agree with your overall assessment but on Monday we win with that formula if we play a "clean" game.
I hope it is a great game. Blowouts are boring. The big difference will be the Matchups. We know Revis and Moss cancel each other. Who covers Welker and the new Tight Ends. Who plays better the Jets Offense or the Pats Defense.
Please post any quote guaranteeing a super bowl. THis is the type of BS that you see from sloppy pats fans. Nobody guaranteed a super bowl. Get a clue.
