So we all know who gets all the coverage both good and bad from this past week.

I figured I'd throw out some guys who deserve nods for some plays made in the game and just there overall performance.

    Steve Weatherford
    Shaun Ellis
    Bryan Thomas
    Jim Leonhard
    LT
    Dwight Lowery
    Vernon Gholston
    Sione Pouha

Weatherford had one of the best days punting I've seen by anyone in a long time. Lowery was great on coverage and on blocking on special teams. Gholston was great on special teams and played fairly well when in the game given his position (staying in the lanes and also taking on two blockers at a time for a lot of the game while he was playing). Leonhard's nod is also for a solid defensive game, but mostly for a great game returning punts.

Bryan Thomas looked like he played with some anger and intensity and looks to have a solid year. Shaun Ellis yet again was a force, playing much like Richard Seymour did for the Pats all those years (when Rex came in, he's used Ellis in a similar manner).

LT, besides Thomas will probably get recognized the most on the boards here. Yet again looks solid running and receiving, but he also in a new system on a new team, was generally very good at picking up the blitz. He also tried to ignite the offense a bit through his play and actions.

Lastly, Pouha. Forget the fumble recoveries, Jenkins went down again and he helped anchor a run defense which gave up next to nothing against one of the best running attacks in the NFL.

I honestly do think Weatherford deserved a game ball. Not even counting for the fact how horrible at times our punting has been for near the past decade, but just for the simple fact he was absolutely outstanding at punting tonight and there really isn't much more he could've done better.

Can't help but mention Revis although I know he's not really unsung. But how good was he completely shutting down his side of the field after missing all of TC. Unfortunately, the result was that the Ravens wisely feasted on Cro and Wilson all night.

    By a couple inches.

    ...twice

The only really tough kick he had was the 48 yard kick, but I'm not sure that's deserved of a unsung player award. Plus how's the guy who accounted for all of the offensive scoring unsung?

I don't think he played poorly, but it's a bit of the Asomungha effect. Teams aren't going to throw a ton at him this year, at least not like they did last year. Plus why would the Ravens even bother when they had success throwing elsewhere. Not saying Revis didn't play well, but it's not like he necessarily shut down his side of the field as it was so much as they had a lot of success throwing elsewhere and didn't want to bother trying to throw at him. It's obviously a bit of both. He's good, but the Ravens had no reason to bother even attempting to throw in his direction 99% of the time.

WTF are you talking about? Oh, you mean the one where we had a penalty that backed us up at the 15 to kick from? Bite me.

I guess that you didn't watch the game. He was consistently kicking into the 12-15 yard range from the normal spot. Certainly a dropoff when you consider that he was booting them without fail during the preseason.

I suppose that you don't mind giving the Ravens an extra 10-15 yards to play with?

    some additions-
Nick Mangold- did a great job pass blocking i thought.

Brad Smith- for being the only spark on offense besides LT

REVIS- barely gave up any passes, now only if they would've put him on Boldin...

    and i only disagree with-
Jim Leonhard- made a lot of good tackles, but he also got beaten pretty bad on a few coverages by Heap.

All we needed was a damn field goal to win the game. And Folk has a strong leg. Keller has got to be aware of where the 1st down marker is.

If we would've won last night, gameball in my mind goes to Weatherford. Dude killed it when called upon, and that's pretty pathetic that he was one of our best players. Says alot.

    Jason Taylor

He had a shitty pre-season and i started worring about that signing

But he had a really good game

Had like 2 tackles for loss and had a few pressures

Also made a really nice play on the ravens last possession to get the Offense the ball back for a final chance

1 play ≠ an entire game

He played a solid overall game
