I agree it's a bit early to say, play on the field will determine this. However, while I share the same enthusiasm for Santonio since his arrival, the thought that our receiving corps could be dependent on his ability to stop smoking weed is pretty scary. The guy fails or misses one more test and he's out for an entire season. The Beard had that one run in with Bron Bron's entourage, but atleast we know we can count on him to play all 16 games when healthy.
Edwards is a dangerous downfield receiver. I think Holmes fits our offense a little better, but Edwards is almost impossible to cover one-on-one deep. But Rex's philosophy is to run, run, run. I think Holmes is a better complement in the shorter passing game, even though he can also make plays downfield, too.
If Santonio can just make it to the offseason ill smoke him out on superbowl blunts for the rest of the year
I definatley sign Holmes long term. i'll let cromartie & edwards walk. Would like to see Nnamdi a Jet! It's a possiblity since he'll be entering the 3rd year of that ridiculous contract & I'll believe the raiders have the option to cut him.
I didn't say he is or that he will be a hall of famer. What I said was that if he was on a passing team he probably has the talent to be a hall of fame type player. At this rate he has no chance.
One great catch? Look at his stats as a #2 receiver behind Hines Ward. He's had an incredibly impressive four year career while playing in a ball control offense. I'm not saying he's going to be a Hall of Famer, but only giving him credit for the Super Bowl catch is stupid.
All of our wide receivers are. It's our TEs that need to learn to block. Keller seems to be better now, though.
