I would rather have Pace sit out week 2 and have a highly motivated Adalius Thomas signed for the Pats game than risk Pace coming back too soon.

That's great news. I've said it before but Pace is a huge help in the pass rush. Maybe with Taylor they'd be able to fill his spot better but last year the defence really lifted when he came back.

This. No matter how good a surgery went, 2 weeks heal time for a broken foot? No way. Sit down Pace and let AT play for a few weeks. The last thing we need is a rush back from injury and then Pace will be out for the season or have long term damage.

If he's ready to play he's ready to play. Of course if we look good against Baltimore there is no need to rush him back. Get him some reps, let him jog/run on the foot and see how it responds. If he feels like he can play and get's doctors clearance then ease him back in on a rotation. Either way, great news.

My guess is that he'll be listed as Questionable for the second game, and sit out as a precaution even at the best case scenario. We wouldn't want him to risk aggravating the injured foot.

I'm not doubting that - some people heal faster than others. But would you want to risk rushing him back out there in a weakened state? That's my only concern. Getting him back on the field fast may cause him to be off it down the stretch when we may need him most.

    Just a concern.

I rather him come back at full strength then rushing him back too soon. If he's ready to go 100% great if not Taylor and if we sign AT, will hold down his position. We're in this for the SB not the regular season. We have a ton of talent and losing him shouldn't dramatically change our results in the win-loss column. I'm not saying he isn't important but we are stacked. If he misses the first 3 weeks I might consider not playing him against a terrible Buffalo Bills team and if he did play, it would only be limited snaps just so he can be back on the field again.

The one from Dragon Ball Z right? That would make for one hell of an outside linebacker.

Nothing for nothing but if they try and rush a foot injury the Jets are playing with fire. It is better to give him an extra week or 2.......

Here's what's getting me about all of this. He had surgery to repair a broken foot. I've broken my hand and known many other people who've broken bones and only one person I've ever known had surgery and it took months to recover. I don't doubt he can come back, but something just seems really strange here.

It really depends on the type of break he had in his foot. Obviously it wasn't a severe break or he wouldn't be making such a speedy recovery. I trust the Jets medical staff and Rex not to rush him back out there yet if he's ready to go then let him loose!
