I don't want to overdramatize this, but thank God. While I haven't been a Clemens fan since he got the chance to fill in for Chad he's still the best QB who isn't named Sanchez on the roster.

Brunell would be better if he were 5 years younger, but he just looks OLD out there. I think Clemens is going to be listed as the #2 QB with Brunell holding the clipboard by week 4.

I'm just happy they aren't keeping 4 QBs.

In 1999 I was also happy that we waived Scott Zolack and kept Mirer as the #2 instead.

I still remember when Mirer was touted as the next Montana.

It's not like Zolak would have gotten us anywhere, either. Ray Ray was the answer that year, it just took Parcells too long to figure that out.

I sold my Rick Mirer rookie card for $125 bucks back when he first came out. I saw the same card on eBay for .75 cents awhile back.

That freaked me out not going to lie.

But O'Connell sucked major balls anyway, Clemens actually looked decent this preseason, were better off with him

What does this mean for my Madden Ultimate Team?? O'Connell was my starting QB, he was pretty good in the game! :(

Ainge is better for the Ultimate Team. When you select the "Do Coke With Team" option chemistry gets a +30 bonus, which is vital in the early stages of the game.

Glad Clemens is still with us. He seemed to have lost his happy feet out there (albeit against 2s and 3s) and looks like a more poised and serviceable QB.

This alleviates my biggest concern... that they would trade Clemens and we would be left with Brunell. If Sanchez missed a few games, I don't think it would take more than a half for Clemens to take over from Brunell. We could have gotten Bulger, who is no shiny new car either, but better than Brunell.
