There is NO WAY NE would trade Moss, not with Welker coming off such a major injury. They also have to re-sign Brady, and trading Moss isn't going to help that effort.

Walker's knees are as washed up as Namath's are, that just goes to show how desperate the Vikes are to find a veteran WR.

Do I think there will be a Coles trade? No. Do I think it would make sense? Yes.

i think it would make sense to look into it, if i were Tanny. but Coles for four games will be more valuable to us than just a random conditional 7th round pick. coles directly after the 08 season could have netted us a five and maybe a 4, but two years later, his value is in the tank and honestly thinks he will be forced to retire after 4 games this season when holmes returns. so that says to me no matter how desperate Minny is, they wouldnt want him to begin with

So you think Coles is more washed up than Javon Walker?

    Um, no.

MIN should be on the phone with Tanny, not the other way around. Coles can still play.

Trading Coles now, when Holmes will be out for the first 4 games, only makes sense for a third round pick or better (i.e., someone who will help the jets in the future). After Holmes comes back it makes sense to trade him for pretty much any pick if the Jets intend to cut him then (but he's also worth a lot less to Minnesota then because he'll have to learn the offense and it'll probably take at least a few weeks for him to get comfortable with a new offense)

Why does everybody say that Coles and Favre didn't get along? I seem to remember an article in which Coles was talking about the jokes he and Favre were playing on each other.

It's irrelevant what his worth was 3 weeks ago, 3 weeks ago the Vikes didn't have to worry about their WRs. Things change. BTW has anybody considered that the Vikes knew that Rice needed the surgery but told him to wait to announce until after favre was there. The way Childress and the Viqueens have acted the last 2 years I wouldn't put it past them.

Don't forget that Minnesota is the franchise that gave us a 6th round pick for Brooks Bollinger. Anything is possible.

Wouldn't the Vikings have more interest in a younger, healthier, more solid WR like Cotch?

Not that I would like if we traded him since he's our most sure handed receiver.

But if the point of this post is to determine how best to exploit the Vikes, he'd probably net us much more than whatever we'd get from trading Coles. And a 3WR set of Santonio, Braylon and Brad isn't all that bad. Then again, Brad doesn't have a crazy enough name to be a starting WR on this team.

I never thought I would see the words "Healthier", and "Coles", in the same sentence!

Wow, don't talk silly, Cotchery is a jet for life, or until we have no further use for him. No way he's traded. For a start he's the only WR under contract beyond this season.

Maybe we could trade Coles for one of Favres tractors and a used pair of Wrangler jeans, even this is pushing it.

Coles has about the same amount of value as I do, lol at the thought of getting any pick for a WR that we just picked up off the street, let alone a 2nd round pick.

Agreed, I don't want to see him gone either. Jerricho does his job, keeps his mouth shut and has a crazy enough name to fit in comfortably with Braylon and Santonio.

Just throwing it out there as a way to best exploit the Viking's needs.
