All this means is that these stations can negotiate with NFLN to add it to their packaging now. Your best bet is to contact your local provider and ask for an update.

great, so most likely they will not have a deal worked out by the beginning of the season.

You'll be lucky to have one by next season with how quickly these companies like to work. You should absolutly contact your provider though. If they get enough people asking for this channel now that they are free to get it, they'll get into gear on it.

What I mean is, ask them if they have any plans to add NFLN now that the NCTC has struck an agreement. The rep will likely have no idea, but they will have to put in a channel request, which goes right to the production team.

I work for Bell Canada, we deal with this shit non stop thanks to a new channel we don't get. We had enough request they've begun negotiations to get it.

I've toyed with leaving Time Warner for DirecTV but I live in an apartment building and it seems like a giant pain in the butt. And TWC has been doing a decent job of getting the channels I really want. I was ticked when they took away HDNet and HDNet Movies, but the rest of the HD lineup is decent. Sometimes there are bad audio/visual dropouts, but who is to say DirecTV would be any better? Quite a gamble just to get the NFL Network...

AFAIK Cablevision has always said that they don't want NFLN until they can get NFL Sunday Ticket, which will probably be never.
