On ESPN.com, it was posted that: "We hear the return of CB Ray Mickens to the Jets after one year in Cleveland will ratchet up the pressure on third-year CB Derrick Strait, who has thus far failed to distinguish himself at the nickel corner spot."
So...who does everyone think will win out the spot. Personally, I think Mickens will take it just because he is much more experienced. Derrick Strait, in two years, has never even broken up a pass. His fundamentals are way off. He is too raw to put out on to the field on an almost every day basis.

Well they will be fighting for the Dime spot. Miller and Dyson will probally start and Barret will get the Nickle spot.

I think Barrett is a better player than Dyson.

Well your wrong because he is definently not better. I've never been a fan of barrett, he's extremely Mediocre. Personally I think the two startes will be dyson and miller, and I think Barrett and Mickens will be fighting for the nickel spot.

I also think it's possible we might change up the corners a lot this season, give everyone a shot to prove themselves, seeing as how were not going to the superbowl this year.:shit:

Dyson and Barrett are both average corners. Barrett should start against bigger receivers and Dyson more against quicker ones, assuming Miller wins a job.

I like the idea of bringing Mickens back. He is what he is. He won't wow anybody. But if the youngs were starting to feel entitled - they best get over it and start working hard.

I hear a bit of controversy between people there regarding our starters. I am unsure how our depth chart will look like starting week 1 but its gonna be a tough call. Barrett and Dyson are good corner, not gonna wow you, but Dyson is better. Miller should get the chance to start this year, but don't know if he will starting week 1. Therefore my conclusion is Dyson, Barret, Miller, Strait, Mickens.(like the depth)

Being that nickel is a much different position than starting CB and Dime, I wouldn't be surprised if the loser in the three person starting CB race is relegated to the dime.

Barrett is not mediocre. He is a good #2 CB who needs to play with a FS that can give him good help over the top...something Coleman really didn't do last season.

I can see Strait playing some safety this year.

Why would he play Safety. When Rhodes and Coleman are great safeties?

I'm not sure Coleman is a great safety? I believe we are going to use a true strong safety unlike Henderson's D and with a true strong safety the free safety really needs to cover. I agree that Rhodes has great potential I'm not convinced that with a true strong safety playing that Coleman is going to be a solid Free Safety.

i dont know about everyone else, but i am starting to hate derrick strait.. he sucks!! i havent seen him do anything that merits him any playing time.. especially now with dyson, barrett, miller, and mickens on the roster, there isnt any room for strait.. i'd rather have r. washington covering as the 5th CB when we go into quarter defense.. STRAIT ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!! he is slow, he doesnt have good technique, ive never seen anything out of him that made him win the thorpe award.. no wonder he dropped to the 3rd round.. how can one be named the best DB in college that year and then drop all the way to the 3rd round?? oh i know, because he isnt good..
