even if say i can grab andre johnson rd 1 roddy white rd 2 and maybe romo rd 3 and gates/clark rd 4???
You never know how the board will fall. If it's not a PPR league, grab a big time quarterback early. If Rodgers is there, pull the trigger.
i posted the scoring in the 1st post. ppr for wr and te not rb's 1 pt for 15 yards passing 5 passing td 6 rec or rush td 1=10 yards rush/rec
Based off of 2009's stats: 312 points for Andre Johnson 445 points for Aaron Rodgers Rodgers earned 295 points in passing yardage alone. If you can get a quarterback like Bree, Brady, Schaub, Manning, Romo, or Rodgers...do it. After you get a QB, go after wideouts and tight ends that catch a lot of passes - Witten, Welker, Steve Smith...
WR is a deep class this year imo so I think you gotta go QB or RB at 7. CJ AD MJD Rice Gore should all be gone.. so you could get one of the top 3 QBs or take a risky rb like Mendenhall, SJax, or Turner
My league is customized so that QB,RB, and WR all score about equal. Of the top 10 from my league last year it's something like 4QB, 4RB, and 2WR. That way it's a lot more intense and interesting. Otherwise it's so boring everybody taking a RB round one with maybe 1 QB and 1 WR. My league's first round will go something like this: 1.Rodgers 2.Johnson 3.Manning 4.Peterson 5.Rice 6.A.Johnson 7.MJD 8.Gore/Brees
In a PPR for WRs/TEs league, I am all over Andre Johnson at #7 over any QB. Relative to their positions, AJ is superior to other WRs compared to Rodgers and other QBs. I like Rodgers as the #1 fantasy QB this year, don't get me wrong, but Andre is a PPR monster.
You have to look out for Manning as you know come the time for your playoffs he's going to be sitting. It's great that he's going to get you to the playoffs but you can't have him disapeer in the most important games of the year. I'd look for Andre Johnson or MJD. You know Jacksonville has 2 scoring options...Jones-Drew or Sims-Walker. If you grab Johnson you can always look to double up with Schaub in round 2 plus you know the Texans will be playing games that matter in December as they fight for a playoff spot.
Agreed, Andre in a PPR is a lock for dominance, he in the 1st and Schaub/Romo later is going to blow away Rodgers and a 3rd round wide receiver unless you catch lightning with that pick.
Yea I would definitely go with AJ as well. There is a slight drop off in WRs after AJ, but not so much for QBs after Rodgers. Wayne, Moss, and Fitzgerald all have some question marks surrounding them... Brees, Peyton, Brady, Schaub, Rivers, and Romo are all pretty sure to put up some big numbers. If you really want one of the elite QBs I'd say see who falls to you in the 2nd thru 4th, otherwise wait until the 5th thru 7th and grab someone like Eli, Favre, Cutler, or Ryan.
1.johnson 2.ap 3.mjd 4.rice 5.peyton this is the 1st 5 picks if everyone is honest. so its then rodgers andre johnson then gore draft in 4 hours
so you don't have much to worry about. Either Rodgers or Johnson should be gone and then you just take the other one. If both are there flip a coin or something.
