Completely disagree with some of these. Ricky Williams a top 10 RB at 33 years old?? Ronnie Brown is definitely better than Ricky. Santonio Holmes is in the top 10 but Randy Moss isn't??? I feel like that has to be a typo or something. Lee Evans is an underrated receiver but not top 10.

While I probably wouldn't put Ricky in the top 10 backs, he was very productive last season and carried the Dolphins for about a 6 game stretch when Ronnie went down. 1121 yards and 11 TDs with a 4.7 ypc average is impressive
Thomas Jones ran for more than 1,400 yards and 14 TDs with a 4.2 YPC average. Is he a "blue chip" player too? Let me answer that for you: No, and it's not even close. Before the marijuana bullshit that he pulled off, Williams was arguably the best back in the game. Not anymore though...Williams doesn't rank up there with the real, top tier backs in this league. Chris Johnson, DeAngelo Williams, Steven Jackson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Adrian Peterson, and Ray Rice are the best backs in the league. Williams isn't on the same level with them anymore. Knowshon Moreno and Ryan Mathews should be on that list soon enough.
Fair points. He was the best back in the league, no argument could convince me otherwise. We had a garbage o-line and he still ripped off 1800 yards when every D knew he was gonna get the ball at least 25 times a game. I wouldn't consider him an elite player anymore, but I'd say he could be the top back on a number of teams depth charts which says alot for a 33 year old. I know he couldn't single-handedly be the main bellcow anymore, as last year showed, but he certainly can still give you a vintage performance when you need it
Ricky Williams for pure talent is a better rb than Ronnie Brown. He has hall of fame talent. However he's not a leader, doesn't ever want to be the main guy. He has never played up to his talent. As good as he was last year he could be better. Ricky's problems have always been mental though. That's what held him back. That and a crappy coach in Dave Wannstedt.
He also faded down the stretch forcing Henne to throw more than Miami wanted when he wasn't ready to. Ricky is really good in his role now, if he has to be a feature back for an extended period of time it will not work anymore. Ricky was the best back in the NFL in 2002- that's it. he was incredible that year but has never been great in any other year he has played. No doubt about it, Ricky has HOF talent but he has wasted it unfortunately for him, NO and Miami.
Yeah, he could have been a hall of famer. He still has things he does better than Ronnie Brown. He has great vision and more agility. Ronnie Brown has great speed and power he's a talented back when healthy but I think Ricky is a rare talent. The Dolphins are lucky to have them both though for at least another year.
Talent wise I'm not sure there is a better back in the league but he's opne of those guys that hasn't played to his immense talents. If he did you never need to draft Ronnie Brown in the first place.
Tony Richardson is still the best FB in the league even at his age. I'm not sure how they can give both the Patriots and Dolphins more Blue/Red chippers than the Jets.
If Wannstedt was a better coach then Ricky never retires. But it is what it is. Tim Graham the AFC East blogger for ESPN agrees with you and says that Tony Richardson is the best FB in the league. I disagree though. Lousaka Polite has for the past 2 seasons gotten a first down every time he was given the ball in short yardage. If you need a yard Polite WILL get it. He's been amazing to watch. The fact he didn't go to the Pro Bowl is a huge injustice.
That's not true. Ricky retired b/c he doesn't love football and like smoking more, he came back when the dolphins went after his money and he needed money to survive.
So he's a good short yardage back? He's still not better than Baltimore's LeRon McClain. Tony Richardson is still the best lead blocker in the NFL and that should be a fullbacks main purpose.
