It's not the 73 games Abraham played in that says a lot...it's the games he didn't play in that say a lot.
I have always argued against #80 being retired but I believe Chrebet deserves to eventually be in the ring of honor and I expect he will be.
All the names on here are perfect for the first class. Obviously I'd like to see Chrebet on there at some point, and he will be at some point. As long as Curtis made it, I'm happy.
when gastineau gets installed they should bring out former quarterback Vince Ferragamo to be sacked by gastineau and then have him break out the sack dance
Ha I laughed when this was announced. Here we are a overall under 500 team which says a awful lot about the quality of players we have had thru the years having a ROH. After the 68 team (69 SB winners) we have done NOTHING but become a laughing stock of the league up to now. Sure during all these years excluding the 68 team which brought us the only glory this team has ever known we have had a decent player here or there but to say that any of them brought respect or glory to us (that is what the ROH is) is a real, real stretch. When they made the announcement I wondered why the entire 68 team was omitted since they are the most historical team we had since inception in 60 up to this day. I know that several players & the coach from the 68 team were included but NOT the entire team which made history by being the 1st AFL team to win a SB. While Klecko & CM were nice players they won nothing while the 68 team won the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP of the FB world & turned the FB world upside down
klecko is the ONLY PLAYER EVER to be voted to the pro bowl in 3 different positions curtis martin is 4th on the all time rushing leaders and in only 10 years and i wouldnt even count 2005 Rank Player (age), + - HOFer, Bold - Active Yds Years Teams 1. Emmitt Smith+ 18,355 1990-2004 2TM 2. Walter Payton+ 16,726 1975-1987 chi 3. Barry Sanders+ 15,269 1989-1998 det 4. Curtis Martin 14,101 1995-2005 2TM 5. Jerome Bettis 13,662 1993-2005 2TM 6. So exactly what R you saying by posting those stats? Do U think I am unaware of what U posted? Did I say that JK & CM did not belong? I am just pointing out that IMHO they made a quite serious omission by leaving the entire 68 team out & the 68 team should be in before JK & CM because there achievements were greater. That is all
The ring of honor isn't about team achievements, Champ. It's about individuals who have gone way above and beyond their peers. Inducting an entire roster just isn't the way it's done. They've already been immortalized by winning the championship. And while winning a championship really is what it's all about, there are other aspects to the game of football, one of them being individual achievement. Barry Sanders never won a championship, but that doesn't mean he doesn't belong in the HoF.
^^^ That record looks broken. Like the records that the Jets will break this year, maybe the first 19-0 team.
Why do U say that? They are the ONLY NYJ team to have brought any glory & respect to the organization to date?
