I hate to say this about a Dolphin but Dansby is probably one of the most underrated players in the league. The guy is a stud.
Not one called him the best linebacker around. He was a free agent. Players in free agency get more money, sometimes more than thier play warrents. Its the only way a team can upgrade on pocket book alone and it costs. This reason is why drafting is some important. Unless you can bring in effective cheap talent in the draft, you don't build a superbowl caliber team, just ask Dan Snyder. Now back to the point at hand, your completely failing argument. Fist off, when you feel the need to call people retards, its a sign that your losing the argument. It makes the rest of us laugh even harder in your face. If you want anyone to take this even somewhat seriously, try not tot act so childish. Second, I didn't see anyone saying "omg, dansby is great, were all screwed". What is true is that Dansby is a very good upgrade for the Phins and helps greatly in both run support and more importantly middle of the feild pass coverage. He's the type of backer that can keep players like Keller in check. That makes him dangerous. Stats wise, Dansby had similar numbers to Vilma last year. I don't think Vilma is great, but a good linebacker. Karlos is in the same range and last season was statisticly his worst in the NFL. This was a very good signing for the Phins. Finally, much like hits in hoockey, Tackles are recorded different in every stadium by ecah indiviual statistician. When is a tackle an assist. If your the third guy in on the mob do you still get one? Its an inaccurate assesment. You want to know the player, watch the tape.
How did the Fins manage to land him anyway? He was the DC for Denver, and so far as I know you cannot hire someone away from another team for the same position. Did the Broncos just give there permission?
Nolan & McDaniels mutually decided that he would resign, according to reports. I too agree that Nolan was their biggest addition, but I can't say that Dansby is over-rated. He is a damn good player. Is he a Top 5 ILB? Hell no, but he's Top 10.
Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman and Broadway Joe all had some crappy passing stats, boy those guys sucked......
ok idiot, heres some research for you, d.harris as a rookie w/out bart scott had just as good as a season as he did last season. and this is w/eric barton playing the other inside lb spot. and i didnt say sacks were the only thing, but if your not getting sacks, you should get a shit load of tackles, which he didnt, then what about impact plays? none. dansby, like i've said before, i just think is a middle of the pack lb.
this thing is getting waaaaaaaaaaaaay blown out of porportion. am i not allow to say i think dansby is overrated. i respect everbodies opinion, and i try not to name call, unless i get named called.
dansby is far from overrated. marshall mike nolan dansby theyve done a good job this offseason. i think nolan was one of the best pickups this offseason least talked about. then again nolan needs edge rushers and they have Cameron Wake and???????? not so scary. Odrick could surprise some people. we'll see.
Couldnt agree more. Plus Dansby is a great LB...he's going to open things up for Channing to make some plays. Make no mistake about it...if Miami can pull it together they are going to have a damn good D.
