The why is simple, Marshall. If we had signed him everybody and I mean everybody would be picking the Jets to go to the superbowl.
yes, Jet fans are flocking to Vegas to bet on the Jets winning the SB We didn't need Marshall and we got a damn good WR in the offseason.
I know getting Holmes was like paying $80,000 for a top of the line preowned BMW. The Dolphins just got their Ferrari for $800,000. Marshall the better player yes, but at least we have some extra money to play around with. We have plenty of players we need resigning anyway.
The last paragraph is the evolution of the Jet fan. I love to see it. Rex is even rubbing off on the fan base!
What was that saying again.. A jet fan finds a bag of 50's on the ground and complains that they're not 100's
Im gonna flip a coin between Sanchize Prime and NYJunc to see who is going to win their pissing match.
We signed Holmes instead. Yes, he is suspended for four games, but he is a major threat on the field.
I believe it was ..... See Above lol If a typical Jet fan walks down the block and finds a bag of 20's he would be bitching it isn't a bag of 50's. But 100's or 1000's..... shit you can even use the bearer bonds they used in Die Hard or gold bars it doesn't matter Jets fans would be bitching. It is all interchangeable..... I would even go so far as to say if the Jets win the Suerbowl the following year Champ will continue his countdown..................
Nah that would be even more douchebaggy then quoting myself. That would be me quoting you to quote myself..........fucking shoot me if I did that. Nothing worse than quoting yourself, except that of course.
The reason Miami is a trendy pick, particularly for their partisans, is that they have no obvious holes to point at as reasons they won't make the playoffs. The offensive line is ok, the QB is ok, the WR's are now ok with Brandon Marshall added to the bunch, their RB's are still the class of the AFC East with Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. On defense they have no obvious holes either. You look at Bill Parcells teams after he has had them for a few years and they tend to be very solid, which is where the Dolphins are now. The Jets will make the playoffs if Sanchez has a good second season and they will likely miss if he doesn't. That's just kind of where we're at at this moment in time. The Jet's D was pretty good last year and it took two teams rolling over at the end of the year for them to go 9-7 and make the playoffs. This season we're going to have to earn 11 wins to guarantee a spot and might luck in with 10. BTW, I expect the Jets to make the playoffs next season and either Miami or New England to miss out. I think New England is just as likely as Miami to be the odd team left out.
I don't really have a problem with this nor consider this "bulletin board" material, he didn't really disrespect the Jets at all with what he wrote. He just didn't pick the Jets for the playoffs, which is reasonable considering the depth of the AFC.
Yep and BP teams tend to never win in postseason as he only has ONE playoff victory in years he has been picking players. he can turn bad franchises into good ones but he has never been able to turn them into great ones.
I can't believe some of you are letting this bother you. 1. The guy is a Texan, so of COURSE he's going to put The Texans up there and 2. He's from Miami, so he probably grew up a Dolphins fan. But people keep discounting this Miami team, they are NOT the 1 - 15 Dolphins. I hate that damn Wildcat offense, but they are actually a decent team and you can NEVER count out the Gaytriots. I believe with Sanchez having a 2nd year in the system and with our D, and of course if Shonn Greene can stay in one piece most of the season and Slauson or Ducasse fill in admirably at Faneca's spot and there aren't any chemistry issues, I don't see that happening, mainly because who the HC is, the JETS are going to take the AFCE. However, please believe, the AFCE is a TOUGH division and well you guys know that any given Sunday thing. I'm tempering my enthusiasm, I have supreme faith in The JETS, but I do NOT want to get my hopes up too high. I can't let this guy's assessment bother me.
The second coming of what? To say that that trio isn't a formidable 2, 3, and 4 is silly. Davone Bess is already regarded as one of the best slot receivers in the game. Camarillo catches everything thrown his way, and Hartline has a knack for the big play. No one is saying that we have the best wr's in the league, but our core is legit and no one can deny that. The jets core is legit too. It has been a while since our core was a strength and not a weakness, and you just cannot deny that it is now a strength. Also, keep in mind that Revis will have his hands full with Marshall in the passing game, but he'll also have to deal with the physicality that Marshall will bring when blocking for the wildcat, when (in reference to an earlier post) it will be 10 on 10. Marshall blocking Revis for an entire game will surely wear him down, and no doubt is one of the main reasons the Dolphins brought him in. We are a ground and pound team first and foremost.
