They should have him as honorary captain at the home opener. He deserves to be introduced by himself after everyone else has come out....NO other NYJ Captains should be at mid field for the coin toss. Just Wayne struting out, by himself.

If you have not seen it already check out the video at NYJ.com. A winner personified!!!

The fact that he even considered coming back after his 8th concussion shows the kind of Jet he was. He will be missed

Imma miss Wayne, he was a great man and he was a great competitior. I will always remember him for his guile and toughness. Also, the two moments that i will remember Wayne for the most are for the good, when he caught that TD pass from Chad Pennington against GB in the year 2002 that basically iced the game, and the AFC east that year the look on his face, he was so jubilant, all the Jets fans were jubilant, and it sent chills down my spine, and gave me goosebumps. Then the disturbing moment was the Sd game when he got knocked out for good, the look on his face almost brought me to tears.

Well CHEERS goes about to Wayne Chrebet, a great man and a who defied great odds to be a damn good player and an inspiration to many people as a hard working, nothing but business tough son of a bitch who worked his azz off to get to the NFL and make something out of his career. U never let ur ego get in the way and ur as selfless an individual that I have ever seen in a Jets uni. I loved watching u play and was inspired by ur grit and toughness. So on this day of ur retirement i would like to thank Wayne for all his hard work and dedication to the NYJ and wish him luck in his future

We Jets fans love you and we'll miss you

I remember we were playing Buffalo (away) during his rookie season. We were out of state and I forced my husband to pull over so I could run into this hick bar to check out the score. That little b*stard was all over the place, dragged three guys with him on one play. Incredible heart. Thanks, Wayne. I guess I should also thank *COUGH!* Kotite. Holy Cr*p.

That's the thing, you have to give Kotite credit for Wayne Chrebet. Chrebet himself made a point of giving Kotite that TD ball he caught in the last game of Kotite's second season, as a token of appreciation I guess for Kotite's nurturing hand. Even the darkest cloud has a silver lining...

Funny story, Mets are playing Yankees and I want to see it because it was late in the game. We were in the Poconos which usually televise these games. Nonetheless we pull into a real hick bar and when we get in, 1 small t.v. with 6 or 7 people crowded around it. I fight my way through to see who's winning. Turn out theyre watching freaking cops:mad::mad: Had to settle for a drink and updates by calling my friend.

    Crucial Possessions,
    Unimaginable situations,
    Necessary 3rd down conversions,
There was only one man who was willing to put it all on the line and take on the task.
Without Hesitation, He was always there when we needed him

Thank you wayne....you are truly one that we will never forget.

Thank God someone talked some sense into the man. I was praying Wayne wouldn't come back. I had visions of Muhammad Ali everytime I think of Wayne getting hit one more time.

Good luck to him. Now he can get those seats on the 50yd line right next to my other all time favorite Jet, Al Toon..

The guy is a class act. I will always remember the game vs the Packers and he caught those 2 touchdown passes. Watch the video over on jets.com that really proves what a great guy he was and always will be.

    Good Luck Wayne
