It's a team sport last time I checked.

The team made it to the conference championship. And Sanchez didn't exactly 'lead' them anywhere. In-fact at times Mark Sanchez was the sole reason why the Jets almost missed playoffs to even begin with if you want to get into it. The Jets had to pull out the 'coloring system' offense for him to follow because his decision making (and league high interceptions) were killing what was a very solid team. A steady dose of the #1 rushing game and a stellar performance from one of the best defenses around was more-so the reason down the stretch what got the team in the conference championship game.

    Rex Ryan's Playoff Record: 2-1 (1 season)

    Tony Sparano: 0-1 (2 Seasons)

Smack aside, perhaps Sanchez didn't "lead" us to the AFCG, I'd say it was the defense, but he certainly helped put us in there big time vs the Bengals and his TD pass vs. the Chargers was a really difficult, clutch throw.

Pretty good stuff for a rookie thrown into the fire and one who had struggled in the middle of the season. Many wouldn't have been able to come back. Sanchez did. Now we'll see if he can build from there

Sparono has never been a coach on an NFL team that has won a playoff game. Rex has him dominated in that category. But hey, the fins swept the Jets so there season was successful and they're going to the superbowl this year.

Thats the point of this thread. For one, he will never be that bad again.

He turned into a leader the last couple of games, including all 3 playoff games. He has had a great offseason and seems to have a great work ethic. You might have expected him to take it easy with his surgery and thinking he was so great for getting to the title game, but instead he has worked harder than ever. That has really impressed me and that is what it takes to be great.

keep huggin' that "sweep" from last season....I'll take a berth in the AFCC game over a season sweep any day of the week.

Sanchez was instrumental in our playoff run...coloring system or not...he contributed to 2 straight road playoff victories....

    what did Henne do again?

    If you say so..

Rex Ryan beat 1 respectable team in the postseason, Congradufuckinglations! Bust out the HOF awards now why don't you! And that one respectable win came against one of the biggest choke teams in recent history. Wouldn't you agree? San Diego hasn't won anything but 4 division titles the last 4 years. Every year they find a way to lose to a weaker team in a big game (ahem kicking game). You still have to give credit for the win as I am, but take it with a grain of salt.

And dominated would be a better word to describe what happened to Rex Ryans defense in his only other playoff game facing a team that's respectable, and not dead in the water. The Colts lit up the Jets defense for just about 500 yards of total offense in the AFC championship game. Almost 400 yards through the air, 3TD's, 0 INT's.

Mean while Tony Sparano is 2-0 against this Rex Ryan head to head, true. Shrug it off however you like, but bottom line when the two teams have played, Tony Sparano is 2-0 vs Rex Ryan.

Including a pretty embarrassing win the first time the two head coaches ever met on that Monday night game down here where the Dolphins ran the wildcat all over your shyt talking defense, including on several critical goal line stands just lined 'em up and smached it in for 6. And then he let every Dolphins fan get excited by allowing Chad Henne to look like the second coming of Tom Brady that night, smoking Revis with the worst #1 WR in the NFL, on his way to a passer rating of over 130+.

Not to mention took over a 1-15 Dolphins team and turned them into an 11-5 team the next season with a division title.

What did Rex do? He took over a 9-7 Jets team and went, ahhhh 9-7. Which in all honestly should have been 8-8. Let's be serious.

I was referring to their entire body of work in the NFL, not just as head coaches. Sporano has NEVER been a part of a playoff win. He can't do it! He got absolutely dominated AT HOME in his one chance as a HC. Rex went ON THE ROAD and won 2. All the fins fans gave the Jets ZERO chance to win either game prior to them happening, but now looking back they were both easy wins.

It was a 20-17 game in the 4th quarter. You probably don't remember because you were too busy shitting yourself at the thought of the Jets playing in the superbowl on your home field. Manning dominated our secondary for sure, as soon as strickland and sheppard were injured and he got to pick on our 4th and 5th string corners.

Right because as Fins fans love to preach, the only thing that matters are two regular season games. Forget about those playoff wins buddy, they're not important. Rex did it with a rookie QB and a more difficult schedule. Mangini did it with a future HOF'r and an easier schedule.

No matter, so far we all know Sporano can't handle being a coach in the playoffs when it matters (according to sane NFL fans). He can't handle the pressure.

Tony Sparano hasn't won a playoff game yet......Henne hasn't won a playoff game yet.....Hell, I still remember when Rex's Baltimore defense bent over Tony Sparano in the playoffs 2 years ago....yeah, the Phins are a fucking juggernaut

Rex is 2-1 in the playoffs as a HC...and was one half away from the SuperBowl....that's FACT.

Maybe you should tap into reality before taking the "Look at me, I'm a buffoon" route on this board.

and like i said in an earlier post...keep huggin those meaningless games.....it's all you have.

How was Cincinnati not a respectable team? I'm pretty sure they went 6-0 in their division. Unless your in the AFC WEST that's pretty fucking good IMO.

Because the Jets beat them. Prior to the playoff game all you heard from fins fans was how the Jets had no chance of winning. After the fact it was an easy win. You know, because playoff wins are so easy to come by. The Fins have at least 1 in the last decade.

I like it when these retarded Phins trolls waltz in here with their "straw-man" arguments.......it's much easier and gratifying just to take a big dump on their un-educated posts.

Thats what it's all about to Dolphin fans, and they pretty much admit it. The dont know what the playoffs are anymore. The Jets is their Superbowl twice a year!

I hope you take your win @ Jets with a grain of salt, because scoring 3 touchdowns when your offense isnt on the field wont ever happen again against the Jets.

In all seriousness the Jets lost to teams they should of never lost to.
Bills,Miami,Falcons. so that 8-8 season lol dont think so. beer me.

He'll be great but not elite? Wat category would that be? I can name about 3-5 QBs that r great n they all are elite. Either great and elite or good and not elite. You don't spend 5th overall n $50+ mils on a player u think who wouldn't be elite in the future n so far he has exceeded expectations by a smallmargin to say the least.

I posted a similar thread few days after the AFCCG saying Sanchez will be great in the future n the off season news makes it sound like he is progressing very smoothly.

Seriously, what are your expectations from a rookie? Every year, with the exception of maybe two three teams, there r QBs that have cost it's team multiple games. Be it through interception, incompletions or just bad decisions. Sometimes, even a positive completed pass can be a bad decision. Yeah the rushing attack helped, but wat was more important is the game n playoff experience he got. He had his share of bad games but he won a few games too. The held it's part in the games. Like u said, team sport.

If see the games, or even the stats, Sanchez threw almost half the picks while throwing to Edwards when they had less than a months time of practice n trying to get in sync DURING theseason. Bunch if dropped catches dint help either do they(face mask?)?
