Yeah, I am not saying he will be elite in 2010. I am sure the Jets gameplans would not even allow him to be if he could. However, like years 3-5 he could become a Top QB.

Geez for much of last year he was awful. But he was a rookie so yes, he gets a pass. Almost all rookie QB's are the suck, like 99%.

He played his best football when it mattered and he was good. However, before I can honestly say he is going to be great, he has to get to good and at least plateau there for a bit.

Agreed 100%. Year 2 will be more telling about Sanchez's future than year 1 was.

I think he has the skills to be very good (top 10 QB) and the mentality to be elite (top 5 QB)... question is, will he have a good system to work in? Manning and Brady had some pretty damn good OCs... for him to be elite he'll have to get lucky on the next OC that takes Schotty's place.

I think he is going to be an all time great. He had a bad season last year because he was rushed into the situation. I mean he played like 14 games in College so he barely was used to College game and then he jumped right to the NFL. Thats unheard of. So its going to take him more time to adapt obviously.

But hey, he's made it farther than any other rookie QB has ever gone. He's gone where no man has gone before (a rookie QB giving his team a double digit lead in the AFC:CG) and he's gone farther than names such as Rivers and Romo in his first season. Thats impressive.

Why would you use Romo as an example?

Because according to the media, Romo is an "elite" quarterback.

Yeah, I agree with you both for sure. Before the actual season though, you could not have asked for anymore than Sanchez has given this offseason. He has truly impressed me. Also, what excites me is Sanchez was pretty bad last season and cost us some games and most likely, he will NEVER be that bad again. Awesome.

I like how you FINALLY got the feeling Sanchez is going to be great. It's been such a long, grueling wait.

I think Sanchez has learned that patience and composure during key parts of the game are required...He doesn't have to be Brett Favre or try to prove he is the savior...Just win baby!

Sanchez, great? Lets worry about average first, how about that? A guy who has to be protected is no where near great!

I think Sanchez's attitude towards the game and winning are what will put him into the category of top NFL Quarterbacks. Do I think he's the kind of QB everyone will be drooling over in terms of great TD numbers or 4,000 yard seasons? No, but I do think he will be the kind of guy that turns a good team into a championship team. We honestly couldn't ask for a better mindset in our franchise QB, he knows that winning is all that matters.

Something interesting that we haven't really heard a lot about is the comparisons between he and Matt Stafford. I think that both of them will emerge as top quarterbacks in the league because of their intangibles.

All QBs have to be protected....otherwise the offensive line would be obsolete.

Sanchez led this team to the AFCC in his rookie year....he certainly made progress as the season wore on and into the playoffs. I expect he'll build on that in his 2nd season.

If that's considered "average"....i'll take average every year.
