First, he's not going to go anywhere this season. Second, I'm not sure they can Win a superbowl with him. If the pats defense plays marginally better than last year, they're going to be very very good. The welker situation looks very promising. The AFC east has two of the top five receivers in the NFL, and probably three of the top ten. Revis is a big deal, especially against QBs like manning/rivers who eat blitzes for lunch. I don't know bradys numbers againt the blitz, I think it's worse than mannings though.

I'm upset with Revis the more that I think about it. Tom Brady took less of a contract that he deserved about 5 years ago to help the team be financially flexible...so why can't Revis?

I'm pissed off at this point. I say we trade him and hope we win without him while he fades into obscurity.

We can thank Mr. Davis for all this and that Nmandi Asomguha contract

You're joking, right? Would you ever turn down more money at your job so your boss could have more financial flexibility?

Revis is the best cornerback in the world. He's probably going to make the lion's share of the total money he'll make in his entire life with this contract. He is not going to leave a penny on the table, nor should he.

I'm getting a little fed up with the Jets when it comes to contract situations, obviously we need to wait until the details come out, but I'm getting a little tired of how the FO is treating players. Ultimately I trust Mr. T to figure out what is best for the team, and obviously Tanny is not the entire front office, still its getting a little old to hear that the Jets are apparently low balling guys when it comes to contracts

If you're pissed off because of a contract negotiation taking place between a football franchise and a football player, maybe you need to re-evaluate how much you attach your self worth with the Jets.

I just think him being selfish (with the competing with the Nnamdi contract and all) and the Jets trying to satisfy him is going to be detrimental to the team. I am pissed off... not at the negotiation, but at how Revis selfishness might hurt the team with regards to keeping talent.

    Fades into obscurity?

    Are you smoking crack man?

Revis is the premier corner in the NFL bar none. He will never fade into obscurity. He will still SHUT DOWN the BEST receivers in the game every Sunday.

Please don't pretend for a minute that you would rather trade Revis than sign him, no matter the deal.

I can't believe this. This is a load of shit. Revis needs to shut the F up and go to the workouts and practices. Shit if anyone of us did that we would be fired. If he is a holdout he is acting like Schwartz's bitch.

I swear with all the shit the Jets pull with their huge promises and then pulling the rugs out from under their players, they are never to be trusted. I am getting sick of the FO. They should pay Revis what he is worth and stop this crap with lying to their players. This charade of promises has to stop or nobody will want to play here.

Don't wanna trade him...but if it comes to that then I say pull the trigger.

He will shut down the best guy...but if he plays for the Raiders, Lions etc and the Jets prosper without him then that, to me, = obscurity.

Jeez, really? Curtis Martin wasn't successful at the Jets because other teams were winning the superbowls, did he fade into obscurity?

    Touche good sir.

Revis selfishness will hurt the team if he is signed to Allan Houston like numbers (respective to the situation) and the team has to let go of other key cogs.

I think definitely more. Broncos got 2 firsts + a decent QB for Cutler, and I think Revis has more value now than Cutler did then. But I still wouldn't trade him under any circumstance whatsoever.

quarterbacks are always going to get more in a trade because it's almost impossible to win without a good one. it is possible to win without a shut down corner.

If Allan Houston was the best SG in the NBA when they Knicks gave him that contract, it wouldn't have been much of a problem

Are you kidding me? The best corner in the league should be payed like the best corner in the league.

See AGS for the crazy analogy.

Yes, but Revis is the best defensive player in the NFL while Cutler is arguably not even a top-10 QB.
