The 1995 UVA Cavaliers had 22, that's TWENTY-TWO, future NFL players on the roster including 9, that's NINE, that are still playing in the NFL. Those are both pretty amazing numbers. There are 28 former Cavaliers on NFL rosters going into the 2006 season. 4 of them (Barber, Barber, Farrior and Kearney) have made the Pro Bowl in the last two seasons. 4 others (Ferguson, Jones, Miller and Schaub) are very highly regarded and might join the list in the next few years. To argue that UVA is anything but a first rate football school in terms of supplying talent to the NFL is just farcical. Are they the best or in the top 5? No, but they're certainly in the upper echelon. Find me another college that has quality players in the NFL at virtually every position.
GM, you're getting trolled so badly it's amazing. Stop doing his research for him, he'll never concede a point.
Well going on what GM posted from 82 till now there average is 2 per year with most being "role" players not the stellars
The only correct point in your eyes is your own flimsy and unsupported point, so it's a waste of time.
Well take it up with ESPN cause that is where the contention about Fergy's footwork come from. To bad guess you did not see it either otherwise your tune would be far different also on this point
I listened to it on the radio because I am aware of ESPN's Draft ANALysis crew's track record of failure. It's almost as storied as the Jets.
Why does it even matter how many UVA players have done well in the NFL? The quality of the school does not affect the quality of the player.
ignoring the fact that there have been succesful players from uva, why would this even matter at all???? wow you're really reaching here i mean when jerry rice was picked everyone on the niners if they were like you would have been like when was the last time a player from mississippi delta st(?) had any success in the nfl.....
To answer your question - last year - 2005. What is your point? You haven't even seen Ferguson play yet and you are judging him by your own misguided notion of the school's production of NFL stars. You are the most miserable, pessimistic, unhappy, fan on the face of the earth. Why do you even bother following a team when you write them and their #1 pick off in May for absurd reasons. Why don't you follow something more appropriate to your personality. Maybe you should follow natural disasters on the weather channel. Then your constant predictions of disaster would fit right in.
That wouldn't work either. I can see it now: "You call that tornado an F5??? That didn't cause nearly enough destruction to be classified as an F5. F1 or F2 tops. Those guys and gals at the Weather Channel don't know what they're talking about".
You guys know nothing about tornados, the guy on the local weather channel called it a thunderstorm - stop posting MISINFORMATION.
hahahhaa. the past two posts should be nominees for posts of the year. champ, you're getting owned. the "Herman Moore was a backup" comment sufficiently showed your lack of football knowledge and how pathetically you reach to try and prove your points. you and rajensen should just build your own website -- Jet Trolls.com -- where you can commiserate and bash the Jets together. cheers
wow champ this is possibly the most disgusting display i have seen on here ever. you really need a new hobby cause following the jets just isnt working for you. i am really and truely disgusted by the garbage posted in this thread. and you got PWNT like 10 times. its just too bad that you jacked up this guys thread, which happens to be an interesting one. now back to the actual post at hand, i like the fact that groh speaks well of him. It also adds another impressive thing to his stock, the fact that groh is a very TOUGH head coach and brick went through 4 years of it with him. it makes me think he will not be a guy who cant hack it in the nfl. he has been prepared by a coach who was "too tough" for the nfl.
- Terry Bradshaw -Lousiana Tech - Mean Joe Green - North texas... - Terell Owens- Tennesee Chatanooga.. - Howie Long- Villanova.. - Larry Allen -Sarasota ST... - Jason Taylor- Akron.. - Jerry Rice- Mississippi Valley St... - Jack Lambert- Kent St. - Conrad Dobler- Wyoming There are plenty more. But we should judge prospects by whether they went to a big name school, right?
