    Jets Fans Predict 15-1 Record

    Gotta love Sexy Rexy's response

    Jets fans anticipate big takeoff
After fans predict a 15-1 season, Ryan wonders: who's going to beat us?

Rex Kool-Aid? Have another glass, New York Jets fans.

Turns out, Jets' fans might be just as swaggerlicious as their coach. When asked in a recent SportsNation poll what the Jets record would be at the end of the season, Jets fans said their team would go 15-1.

That's right, a team that went 9-7 and was nudged into the playoffs with late season wins against the half-staffed Colts and lethargic Bengals, is going to be the Death Star of NFL teams this season.

When asked what he thought of the prediction, Ryan was predictably startled.

"Who'd we lose to?" he asked.

In the game-by-game poll, it seems the fans believe the Jets will lose to the Patriots during their second matchup in Foxboro.

"15-1, I'll actually take that," Ryan said. "15-1, Jets fans are smart. We'll go ahead and take that. I don't want to be too greedy."
he fans are putting a lot of faith in the second-year coach. Some of the key players on the team that made the AFC Championship game are now playing in Arizona, or Kansas City, or Seattle. That aside, Ryan thinks the team will be better this season, and apparently forces his players to repeat this mantra under penalty of having to personally iron all of Woody Johnson's white dress shirts and khakis.

"I think we'll expect to win every game," said wide receiver Marcus Henry, successfully avoiding the chore.

Still, as Ryan walked down the corridor, he seemed to digest the fact that the fans would cut him no slack this season when it came to wins and losses.

"Man," Ryan said. "That's some expectations."

Haha those crazy Jet fans ... 10-6, 11-5, even 12-4 are much more realistic expectations for this ball-club, unless Sanchez becomes the 2nd coming of Joe Montana

15-1 with our schedule? hey it's possible but very unlikely, those fans are going to be in for a letdown

Ho boy. I seriously hope that other teams' fans were voting just to make us look bad. If not...come on, people...

I think it was a game by game prediction of what games the team would win. So if 50%+ said the Jets would win a particular game, then it counts as a win for the Jets. It's not like they went out there and polled a bunch of Jets fans and the majority said 15-1.

Yeah thats a little crazy, because we will obviously be 14-0, and then resting our starters in the last two weeks to finish 14-2:grin:

to be honest i'm expecting a 10 win season.

I must have been watching a different Jets team I guess. Kerry played like shit against a better competition and Mr. TJ wore out even before the season ended.

Key player on the team that made the AFC Championship game? On crutches, maybe.

Which isn't exactly a 'big-takeoff'. We won 9 last year with a rookie QB, rookie HC, and a rookie HB.

This year, we lost Faneca, TJ, Sherry and Lito as starters. Faneca was the weakest link on our OL, TJ wore out and is done as a workhorse, Sherry was a p*ssy replaced by Brodney, and we upgraded Lito (8 games) with a better corner that can also stay healthy for 16 games. We picked up Kyle Wilson to replace another oft-injured Strickland.

We added a late game pass rusher in Jason Taylor. We added a goal line back and a 3rd down back in LT. And to top things off, we got Holmes for peanuts for 12 games.

There is absolutely no reason to believe we'll win less than 10 games. I could be biased but based on the upgrades we made, I'm expecting 10-12 win season. Anything less would actually be disappointing.

U know he has all the tools in the world to have a great season, but Im thinking we'll keep him on a leash to some extent. The damn season can't start early enough!!!

You got that right. Too funny. Who else but Rex could reply that way? The guy's freakin' hysterical. If he stays healthy, and the team plays well for a long time, Rex will become an all-time iconic NY sports figure. The opportunity is there, that's for sure.

That's something most athletes, coaches etc don't seem to get. If you do it right here in the NY area, the sky's the limit. You can become a god, An idol. An all-time figure.

Realistically, I think we could start the season 3-3. Looking at that schedule I can see us starting 0-3 and then having to get the engine going against the Bills. I still think we'll win at least 10 games, though.

I think it could actually help us that we won't have Holmes to start the season. The offense should look close to the same as it did against the Colts last season, but with more experience. I think the Ravens game could be a higher scoring game than some people expect.

    Yep

The article was a set up. If you put that poll before any of the fans from the final 4 teams you would get a similar result,

A weak attempt at shock journalism.
