i think mcknight may be inactive early in the season much like s.g. was last season.if t.rich is the starting f.b. and the terminator is on s.t. then mcnight is going to be odd man out.i can't see 5 active rb every week.just my opinion though

Don't be afraid to challenge people on the board. Abyz isn't going to kill you.

I said Duccasse because even if he splits time with Slausen, he'll still end up with more playing time than Wilson.

Wow Conner votes when Richardson is still on the roster?

Edit: Even with special teams play I doubt Conner has more playing time than Tony.

Shouldn't be too much surprise Richardson is almost 40... He's had a HOF career but Conner is younger and has that extra step that Tony no longer has, this is most likely why, unless the CS is comfortable with him, Conner might have that starting FB position.

Yeah, but did Richardson really lose a step? From everything I could tell he did his job very well.

With the amount of hits he takes each season its not easy to recover as fast and to come back reved up again each and every week for a man who is 40. A young guy like Conner, who is fresh and will play his heart out may be the better option to start if Richardson just cant get it done as well as he use to.

He took 553 snaps in 2009, at the age of 39. He did end up being out of position a number of times late in the season, although he is such a pro that he was able to cut the defender or create something where there wasn't anything a lot of times. It's easy to think he's just going to play forever, but the guy is not the same player he used to be, even if he is better than many starting fullbacks in the league.

When I voted Conner, it was under the assumption that the Jets plan on integrating Conner into the offense on a larger scale at least by the halfway point - they aren't going to just start Tony Richardson for the entire season and then start a green FB in 2011 who has barely any experience. They were tentative about bringing TRich back to begin with, and they even contacted Lorenzo Neal before they re-signed TRich. And players his age tend to get that unexpected injury here and there to take them out for a game or few at a time.

Richardson will obviously be the starter in week 1 of 2010, and he may be the starter by name for the entire season out of respect, but Conner is going to get more snaps than a lot of people expect next season. I'm gambling that he'll get more overall snaps than the other 3 players listed up there, although it's a longshot with the possibility of Ducasse beating Slauson out as LG starter.

I don't see how we can say Ducasse when we don't know yet if he'll even be a starter. It's a toss up right now with Slauson. Therefore I'm going with Wilson, because even if he's not in every play, we already know he's a starter.

I don't see how Conner will get the most snaps. Richardson will likely get a bunch of snaps at FB. Also, the FB is not in on that many offensive snaps to begin with.

    Are you sure about that?

I see Kyle Wilson is the popular choice, but I still say it will be Joe McKnight. Even though Kyle Wilson comes in as one of the more talented corners on our team, the depth on our team is so ridiculous Wilson is not likely to be handed the 3rd spot (even though I think he will win the spot)

Meanwhile McKnight enters cap and is automatically the complimentary back to Greene. We know that we want to run the ball around 30 times a game. Its fair to think that McKnight will get at least 7 carries a game, and maybe 10 or so touches depending on his role in the passing game.

I think 7+ carries is too optimistic. Maybe 4 carries and 2 receptions
