That's because of who we played. The schedule down the stretch featured some pitifully awful teams. Without Jenkins, we didn't get the push we did at the beginning. The numbers are inflated because without Jenkins, we played the Raiders, Bucs, Bills, and so on.
It shouldn't be a shock at this point. The Jets have a franchise QB. He needs protection and playmakers... he now has like 40 of each.
and because in the playoffs, everyone was running up and down the field on with thier running game... get real, man up and stop whining... I wish we could cut fans
The Panthers had a top 3 running game when we played them and we completely shut them down. We also stuffed Miami's run game pretty well the second time around without Jenkins and they were top 5.
hahahahaha i like that idea. The Jets send you a letter, "You've been released from our fanbase. Good luck in the future"
If defense alone won championships, we would have had the 32nd pick in this year's draft. What cost us against the Colts was a lack of depth in our secondary (Cromartie, Wilson) and our inability to run the ball after Greene went down (Tomlinson, McKnight).
How do you know that? These guys have been in the system for some time now. If the coaching staff didn't think they were any good don't you think that they would have drafted someone to fill in? The fact that they didn't tells me there's more talent there than you and many others think.
What no one has mentioned is the fact that drafting Kyle Wilson actually improves the front seven. Now im not saying I don't think this team needs a little help on the DL and a pass rusher, but with all the blitzes and different defenses Rex likes to run the Kyle Wilson pick might actually help the team more than just a player that moves into a rotation. Last season the Jets had the best defense in the league without their Jenkins and all they had were serviceable corners now they have Revis Christ, the 7 child man, and Kyle Wilson which will free up Rex to dial up some defenses that last year he may not have had the confidence to run. So did the jets get more talent in the front 7 no, but they did get more ability to create plays.
yep. i think this has been mentioned plenty of times here though and also by ESPN and NFLnetwork when he drafted him. with those 3 DB's, we can pretty much just put them on islands and have the option of sending everybody without getting burned consistently. with jason taylor, calvin pace and BT...we have a decent pass rush. not to mention who else he's going to send. Don't be surprised if you see lots of safety blitzes this year with pool
Tell me please, which teams do you mean by "so on." Because I am pretty sure you just named the only 3 bad teams we faced post Jenks injury. The Bills weren't a bad running team, I am going to assume here that you just picked the worst teams you could think of without doing any research about their running success last year. And while you are desperately trying to defend your point, you forgot to mention we faced the worst running team in the league twice after Jenkin's injury. I disagree with your concern, and I just gave you your biggest supporting fact. Opinion fail.
