I cant speak for the skins or broncos, but green bay lost Kampman in the offseason and hes pretty solid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Kampman#Green_Bay_Packers Multiple probowls, "Packers defensive line coach Carl Hairston has called Kampman the most complete player he has coached in the NFL" Only reason they let him go was he suffered a serious knee injury in the winter, and is prob going to miss a chunk of the season/have injury issues. So idk what theyre expected ot draft (OL im sure) but Ellis def could fit there
Not really.. Kampmann was moved to OLB in their 3-4 scheme and pretty much sucked at it. They are pretty set on their DL with Jenkins and Jolly at DE.
idk how much theyre gonna count on Jolly. He hasnt done much was arrested for a 2nd degree felony and could be facing 2-20 years in prison if convicted. Charges were filed last year, but i have no idea when the trial is/was. Eitherway I wouldnt be so sure how much green bay wants to rely on a guy who could go to prison and only has 2 sacks over 4 years as their starter.
Too lazy to scroll through to check for a repost but http://nyj.scout.com/2/964088.html Also on Twitter and some other sites
thats fairly oddd...... of the 3 he chooses the most likely to be moved and says no way he is cut... this says to me Thomas will be traded over the weekend...
Exactly how I took it as well. Thomas is either traded or rotating with someone. With traded being all the more likely
It's not that odd... 1. With the Taylor signing, Thomas just solidified his spot as the most expendable of the three. 2. Drive up the price, if this is all true. I agree, Thomas is likely gone.
Given as Faneca is good in run blocking and poor in pass protection is the decision to move on from him an indication of a shift in philosophy from ground & pound to a balanced or even pass-happy attack?
Ellis should stay, he is the most tenured Jet on the roster and deserves this shot at a ring. He also is still a major contributor, but I'm biased towards him as well.
Pretty much. The entire report seems to be semi-bullshit, though it seems Faneca is actually on the block. I'll venture to say that they won't release him if they can't trade him though.
I think it just has to do with possibly picking up a guard in the draft with a better overall game than Faneca right now, ie, a guard that can both pass and run block pretty effectively. I'm guessing it has to do with protecting Sanchez and not wanting him to get killed out there. On top of this, Faneca isn't the youngest of guys anymore, so you never know when he may go down. The added benefit of drafting somebody like Iupati or Pouncey are that they can play multiple positions, so should any of our other lineman go down, they can step in, and the strenght and continuity of our skilled o-line will live on.
If we get a pass rusher in this draft, either Griffen, Sapp, or Norwood, I think Thomas gets the axe. Five. Minutes. Later.
I Think this is stupid. We have nobody who's ready to fill in for Faneca and where lacking D-Line help as it is.
Good guess. But totally wrong. They cut an aging vet making a fortune. That's football, kid. Don't be so surprised next time.
