Oof. I wouldn't like it if that's how the board fell when we were picking.

The best player out of the bunch is McCourty, but I stand by the notion that it would be a mistake to commit late 1st round money to another CB with Cromartie's contract expiring next year...unless the Jets are planning to use him as a 1 year rental. I went with Joseph, but I'm really hoping for either Odrick or a trade down.

There are so many good points here.

I'd be happy with : McCourty, Odrick, Kendle, Graham, Pouncey, Iupati, Saffold, Wilson, Tate, Griffen, or Dunlap. I'm really not targeting one specific person...well maybe my first few I penciled in.

I picked Cody, I think he'll be valuable as a backup to Jenkins at nose in base 3-4, as an end in base 3-4 and as a DT in 4-3

I think we're trading up, but if we do stay, McCourty's the pick

McCourty's the best on the board. Take him.

Seriously. That's awfully slim pickings. In that case, you have to trade down, since there's nobody of immense value. Even if it's picking up a 4th or 5th rounder and moving to the mid-2nd, I'd do it.

I don't think he'll be able to do either of the things in bold.

If Cody and Jenkins played on the same 3-4 line, Jenkins would be the one moving to end.

Mount Cody just isn't the type of lineman that Ryan likes to use in his schemes.

I can see Cody going to Cleveland where Mangini loves a fat fuck to clog the middle and let the other less talented players fuck up around him.

I hope the Jets tell the Browns they love Cody and they allow the Jets to trade back. Linval Joseph may still be there.

If those are the only guys on the board, I say it's McCourty.

I can see Cody making it to the 2nd round and winding up in Pittsburgh if they miss Dan Williams.

You really think your boy Odrick is going to be available???

    Very Doubtful.

Iupati, Pouncey, Wilson, Kindle, Graham..all should be long gone.

That board is probably a good indication of the Jets choices at #29.

    From those players, I'd prefer...

McCourtey, Alualu, Joseph, or Hughes. In that order.

    Chose McCourty.

In my view, if Cromartie plays well this year, he'll want a monster contract, which the Jets can't afford; and if he plays bad, we won't want him.

Assuming McCourty pans out, he locks up CB for us for a while. Revis/McCourty for 5yrs.

    I can't say it's way too high for Joseph...but a slight/med reach.

If Joseph is the pick I won't be terribly disappointed, cause he's a good player that would fit well in our defense.

Went with Joseph, just barely over Cody and DMC.

I've really warmed to the idea of Joseph over the last few weeks.
