I was talking to a friend of mine today who is a Steelers fan. He said he wouldn't trade Ben, however if the right offer came along, he would do it. It came down to this... Rams get Big Ben Steelers get 2010 1st rounder, 2010 2nd rounder, 2011 1st rounder, 2011 2nd rounder, and DE Chris Long. If is this what a Steelers fan EXPECTS to get....they won't get it. Ben is a top tier QB, but, if he is giving the Steelers a bad name, which he is, he could go for a handful of decent picks, not the huge offer I just mentioned.
I was talking to a Steeler fan that thinks the Jets should have traded Revis for Holmes. Delusional no? LOL!
The same guy who I was talking to would have wanted a 3rd rounder, which is understandable. He didn't want Leon tho, who was first rumored to be part of the deal.
Yea it seems to me I read something about Leon possibly being part of the trade. The hubby said he wouldn't have minded Leon since they lost Willie Parker.
Now that person is delusional. At this point they would be extremely lucky to get this year's first and next year's first and even that is way too much. This year's is the overall number 1 pick and Rothlisberger is forever damaged goods now.
hahaha the steelers would be lucky to get a mid to late first and a mid rounder for ben at this point. that guy is insane.
He's one of those fans who wouldn't give him up and wants to give him a 3rd chance. "He got us 2 Super Bowls, so 2 strikes is ok" -Actual quote So I just decided to throw ideas his way and he kept saying no, till I threw out THAT offer and he thought about it and said he "Might" do it then. I offered Browns' 1st rounder and Joshua Cribbs and he laughed.
Yeah, but I read today it will be a "conditional" suspension ranging from 2 to 6 games based on behavior. I get the Substance Abuse policy is clearly outlined, but it seems like bullshit to me that Holmes gets 4 weeks solid for weed and Big Ben gets to play faster if he can avoid walking around clubs with his dick out again.
That's going to take a lot of determination and intestinal fortitude, but I think he'll deliver for Steeler Nation and NOT hang out with his wang out. It'll be tough. Let's pray for him.
I really hope this is one of the points that is holding up the CBA. I know it won't be, but anything to make sure people don't get an easy 2 game suspension for, you know, rape. EDIT I've been waiting for someone to make this one:
the almighty goodell has spoken.... well kinda. it would not surprise me one bit if he only gets suspended 2 games. i think it will all hinge on what the steelers decide to do with him... if he stays in pittsburgh he will get 2 games. if he is dealt or released he will get 4 games. i dont care for the personal conduct policy, but even more so i dont care for goodell and his holier than thou bullshit he pulls all the time. wouldnt you say his employer would be the one to impose sanctions upon him... and THEN if the league doesnt like those they could impose sanctions upon the team? i dont know maybe i just hate the guy too much but i really really cant stand him and anything he does.
I'll be curious to see how far they are stretching the personal conduct policy to validate the suspension and appear sympathetic to rape despite the fact that they are clearly only interested in saving face.
I really doubt they let him back before he serves 4. I mean, forget weed, this guy may very well be a serial rapist even if he hasn't been charged.
