OK it's clear Kerry Rhodes is a better player he's just a lazy faggot. Rhodes is more gifted athletically, and when he wants to he can make plays. His attitude is garbage. As of right now I don't think anyone can say Poole is better than Rhodes. Poole has been hampered by injuries. He hits hard, and has talent. I think he can thrive in RR's scheme if he stays healthy. I hope Poole has a better 2010 than Rhodes, but right now the answer to your question is Rhodes is the better player.
These were similar to the knocks on him coming out of college. Appearantly, for the first couple years he focused on his weaknesses and had some success. Unfortunately, after he got his big contract he reverted back to the KR that the scouts always knew he was.
Rhodes is the better player but Poole is better for the system which, in return, will make us a better team. It was disgusting how Benson and Addai torched us in the playoffs. I don't see that going down this year. Also., I think people are exaggerating Poole's number of concussions. He said himself that he only had one concussion and the other incidents were just migraines. On a bad team., you are going to sit with Migraines.
As of right now they are but lets see what happens come draft time. I'm sure if Nate Allen or Morgan Burnett or Chad Jones falls the FO is going to seriously consider taking one of them.
Well, since there isn't a better option on the roster (at the moment) then the answer to your question is a resounding yes. Obviously, this could change by the start of the season. I could see Pool in a rotation with Smith but we could still use another safety.
Everyone is down on Rhodes and I get that but if we are relying on Pool to be the starting S we are in trouble and I'm sure the CS/FO knows that. Look or S to be an early round pick to compete with Pool/Smith.
I think it speaks more on the CS's confidence in the duo of Revis and Cromartie, actually. Being able to press-man at the LOS with both of your starting corners allows a DC to move his safeties much closer to the LOS, which is Pool's game, as well as Leonhard. I wouldn't be totally surprised to see us select a safety in the first 3 rounds, but I would be equally unsirprised at this point to see us ignore the position in the draft until 2011.
I don't think the Jets are going to go into the season with Poole as starting FS. I'm not feeling too bad about Eric Smith; it seems to me the guy can really develop in Rex's system. If not, draft a safety in the second round.
Another thing to keep in mind is how we draft. If the Jets go, say RDE and OLB in the first 2 rounds, and those 2 players provide an immediate impact, it will force teams to keep a TE and probably a back in to serve as blockers, which means more 2WR sets without a slot. That also allows the safeties to cheat up.
