Now he's going to tell everybody that a league source reported that Rex Ryan died on the operating table.
wwf early days lord alfred hayes and gorilla monsoon. gorilla monsoon would use that expression when a good guy would turn heal and attack his opponent from behind.
hopefully tomlinson can be a role model for shonn to look up to and learn from so he doesnt do schoolyard shit like that anymore?
it's pretty sad when members of this board can be duped by a site like profootballtalk and use it to bash their own players. some of you people shooting off your mouths have no idea if greene and tomlinson know each other or spoke about the touchdown dance after the game, but you are quick to show the hate for a player on your own team and accuse them of schoolyard shit! typical tgg.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-show-greene-the-right-way-to-celebrate-a-td/ Responding to a question about Shonn Greene mimicking his touchdown celebration, LaDainian Tomlinson says he has no hard feelings toward his new teammate and looks forward to mentoring him. "When I saw him do it I felt it needed a little critiquing," Tomlinson said with a laugh. "I thought, 'Maybe I'll see if I can come critique it.' I'm definitely going to show him the right way to do it. I'll be honored if he does it more times next year." That's a very different attitude than Tomlinson took toward the New England Patriots mimicking Shawne Merriman's celebrations three years ago. Perhaps Tomlinson is older and wiser now -- something he alluded to when saying he wants to serve as Greene's mentor in New York. "The greatest thing you can leave in this league is your veteran knowledge," Tomlinson said. "The greatest thing you can leave, a legacy, is teaching young guys. . . . I embrace that role of mentoring young running backs like Shonn Greene."
I don't see how this Greene TD celebration is an issue at all. If the touchdown occurred in New Jersey, would Greene have done the same thing? No. Point is Greene's purpose was to annoy the San Diego fans. He was not looking to belittle Tomlinson. In 2004, Terrell Owens mimicked Ray Lewis' dumbass dance. Owens scored a touchdown and then did the dance. I'm not 100% sure, but I think Lewis was on the field during that play. The two players had exchanged words in the days leading up to the game. Owens was clearly trying to get under the skin of another player. I really do not think Greene was trying to annoy another player. Also in 2004, Hines Ward flapped his arms as if they were wings following a touchdown in a home game vs the Eagles. In that case, Ward was helping to further fire up his fans with the whole Pennsylvania rivalry thing. In 1999, Ravens WR Patrick Johnson did the Dirty Bird dance following a touchdown in Atlanta. Similar to Greene in San Diego, Johnson was facing the crowd behind the end zone and was looking to annoy the home team fans. As for Tomlinson's comments after the 2006 divisional playoff loss to New England, his problem was that the Patriots acted like clowns AFTER the game had ended. Patriots doing the lights out dance after a big play DURING the game? Fine. That's okay, as long as they know when to stop so as to not get penalized for taunting. Patriots doing the lights out dance AFTER the game? Classless. If you win the game, you congratulate the other team and you go to the locker room. If you want to clown around for a moment during the game, that's okay. After the game? Act like a professional.
Wait, that was Cromartie who did that pretty little pirouette when Greene busted the Chargers line then ran down field to give him an elbow in the EZ? I remember thinking at the time that it was the biggest pussy play I have ever seen. I hope he doesn't turn into the new Kerry Rhodes
Greene: Well, the thing is, LT, that when you get into the endzone, you get to do whatever the fuck you want! Tomlinson: /injures toe
Yeah is Profootballtalk but remember the pats game when LT got pissed off? Turns out LT didn't give a shit in the phone conf, but hey I bet it was awkward when Shonn first met LT. Shonn said after the Charger game that 'LT couldn't do it today, so I did it for him'
This is really stupid news. Honestly who cares? they will all team up next year and win the AFC!!isn't that the goal?
This is completely different than what the Patriots did to the Chargers. As far as I know, the Patriots were not provoked. Greene doing the LT celebration thing would have been a bit more awkward if not for Cromartie being a douche on the same play. I'm guessing that Cromartie was probably pretty pissed at himself for not making that tackle.
It's quotes like these that get me more and more pumped for the season to start up, and baseball hasn't even started yet! Great times to be Yankee/Jet fans.
Man what is with these stupid comparisons? The fucking Patriots, a bunch of them, were mocking Merriman after the game was over in the middle of the field, correct me if I am wrong. Greene did his lone celebration right after a touchdown when he was punked from behind. This is like comparing a Gorilla to a goldfish, I just don't get that stupidity.
