Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson said they were staying all 4 years in college if they in fact do what position should we look to adress if we had lets say the top 5 pick. Should we grab Joe Thomas that OT 6'8 305 pound beast for that RT position Go for Dwayne Jarrett at WR with the speedy soft handed tall wide receiver Brady Quinn Pick him up and have a strong QB who benches 350 squats 465 and power Clean 325 with a strong arm and is very accurate If we draft Joe Thomas we will have the next chiefs o line. D'Brick Kendell Mangold Moore Thomas what are you guys take on next years draft even if it is 325 days away
1. Where did u here about them staying all 4 years? 2. Joe Thomas would be a nice pickup but picking up O-lineman again in the first would be bad. 3. Yes if he is there and Ad and Cj are not then we should definetely get him 4. We have a qb already in Clemens we are not going to take another qb agian that high.
Assuming either Chad heals, Kellen is the future or Ramsey pans out, then I think we gotta go WR or OLB. Get a big deep target like Jarrett or Johnson (don't care what he says, Young said it too) or a person who can get to the QB like the dude's from Georgia and Clemson (Gaines and Moses?). Only other consideration for me at this point is RB but I'm pulling for this Washington kid and I'm not too high on the RBs this next year (maybe Lynch but that's about it) Otherwise, maybe NT, but I think we can get a good cheap NT elsewhere. Just look at Kelly Gregg, Jamal Williams, Jason Ferguson rofl2, etc.
Adrian Peterson said it his freshmen year and reiterated it again after the season CJ already said it towards the end the season They could change their minds like Young did
Unless things change, as they usually do i see Gaines Adams who could be 3-4 lb as late 1st rounder in the 20-30 range hopefully we can use our 2 2nd rounders to ge him.
This scenario assumes that we finish with the worst record in the league, which suggests to me that our QB situation hasn't solved itself. And if we pass on Brady Quinn to leave Kellen Clemens the keys to the franchise we can look forward to a bleak 10 years.
This rivals the Worst Thread title, trailing only the 2007 Mock Draft article by SI... less than hours after day 1 ended.
I think it's a moot question. I doubt very much that the Jets will have a top 5 pick. We damn near fell out of the top 5 this year and the 2005 Jets absolutely sucked as badly as anything since 1996. I'm guessing we wind up with a pick from 8 to 12. Maybe a bit worse if we get lucky on the transition to the new regime. So far I'm feeling lucky based on what I've seen.
Assuming we made good picks, QB and OL would be two of the least likely picks in the first round next year. Why not come up with some more options. a) Running Back (Adrian Peterson, Michael Bush, Marshawn Lynch) b) 3-4 Outside Linebacker (Gaines Adams, Quentin Moses) c) Nose Tackle (Frank Okam) d) Tight End (Unfortunately no one really looks that good here) I think those are some pretty obvious target areas
It depends on how the season goes-if no QB steps up we would take Quinn, if no RB steps up we would take Bush, If our Oline doesnt improve, we will go Oline. Draft questions over a year away are stupid for this reason exactly. Who knows that any of these players will still be highly rated? Repost this when we are in position to take any of these players and we know how the season actually went
Lets worry about the 2007 draft after the 06 season. Really, we don't even know if where we will be picking. Enough draft talk, time for season anticipation.
We cant just base our picks for next years draft of of one year because u cant just improve in one year.Clemens will be given atleast 2 years, before he will be replaced. Not even including this year because he wont see the field with 2 guys ahead of him, unless they get hurt. O-line will not be adressed in the 1st we did that twice this year, and if they really wanted another T they would have took one in the 2nd or 3rd. There are only 3 positions that will be adressed high next year is Rb, Wr, and OLb in that order.
That's right, we still have to optimistically root for our team to lose so we can get that juicy draft pick before we should worry about who we draft with it.
I dont see us picking another OL in the first round. I see us picking up a FA RT next year if Jones cant step up his game.
Trey Teague will be at tackle if Jones doesn't get the job done. One of the things I like about the Jet's line for 2006 is that there are a bunch of options available to them and no single injury would kill them. For the last 3 to 4 seasons the Jet's have been a Mawae injury away from disaster. Next season they can handle any injury on the line and still be competitive there. Not that I'm rooting for one but it's nice to be in that situation.
IF we can get Quinn. We need to grab him. But things could be different at the end of this year. I think we'll know by then...
I completely agree. I know it is slow till mini camp and training camp comes but these who should we draft next year threads don't make any sense unless you know the draft position. I hope we are not in a position draft any of the above mentioned players.
