Re: The LaDainian Tomlinson Thread [Status: Back to California without a deal] Jesus Christ we don't need 15 running backs guys. If we sign LT we are going DE or DB with the first pick. The only way we take a HB with the first pick is if we trade up/down in a package deal involving Leon. Saying we need 4 good halfbacks because 'omg what I they get injured' is getting rediculous. Let's just get rid of the other 49 players and have a team of 53 running backs.
Maybe we just like injury prone backs. None of our backs have nearly the same kind of injury history of CW.
i'm still playing a wait and see approach when he gets on the field. He's ahead of schedule in terms of joining the team for OTAs and TC, but I gotta see him make cuts to believe he's going to be 80% the back he was.
What an absurdly hyperbolic argument. We're NOT going DE with the first pick. It'll likely be OLB, S (if we're lucky), WR, or CB. However, IF Mathews is there, I'd be a fan of taking him and trying to deal Leon. The likelihood of trading an RFA on draft day is nil, but we could do a sign and trade after the draft was over. Injury has little to do with it. The prospect of retaining those other backs (Greene excepted) and entering into a phenomenal RB draft with no drastic starting needs has everything to do with it.
Which essentially makes it a moot point  My only hope is that Brandon Graham falls to #28 and I immediately know we're getting one of the two guys I want for the position. If New England decides it needs a new WR, he just might drop that far.
According to a San Francisco newspaper I read the other day, Fargas was drawing interest from the Chiefs and 49ers.
You're knocking Tomlinson for being on the decline and being injury prone, yet you want the Jets to pick up Fargas? Fargas has the same issues.
and he is way less dynamic. Fargas' injuries aren't as well known unless you seek the info. With LT, and hangnail is reported on ESPN.
Let's see,.there's no crying in baseball and...no loyalty in....games? While football is indeed a game, first and foremost it is a business. Hope that helps.
Not so ridiculous when all of them have major injury concerns. The backfield is beginning to look like a triage ward. Fuck that, 53 WRs. A-11 offense!
Re: The LaDainian Tomlinson Thread [Status: Back to California without a deal] I've been checking in on my phone hoping for something tonight. Hopefully he's right!
