    It's a numbers game..not a money issue.

Wright and Brad Smith both are basically WR's that hardly get on the field, except on Teams. As you mentioned, Tanny is possibly getting close to signing Coles.

I'll miss Wright, but the Jets will replenish the core special teams in the draft.....as long a Westoff is around, it may be his last year, we'll be fine.

my guess is wright was allowed to walk because he has always wanted a chance to play a little WR and we never really gave him that chance. Also we have plans to bring in another WR either to play the slot right away, or a rookie who will develop into a slot type (Freddie Barnes perhaps?)

They deemed wright the most expendable of the receivers on the roster. sucks, especially since I deem that guy to be clowney...

Good point. I was starting to feel heartless accepting all of these departures, but I probably shouldn't. I hate to lose him, but the numbers argument certainly makes sense.

Sad to see him go but he is expendable as Abyz said, I hope he gets paid good money.

He was here a few years and never progressed from ST demon to WR. I'm not upset.

I liked Wright a lot. He was a very good for us on ST's. Hopefully his replacement can do just as good a job.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts too. Sure I liked Wright, but...

I am pretty sure Tanny has a plan. Good luck to Wright in Carolina!

Wright was pretty popular on the team, so I hope this doesn't further affect team chemistry.

Then again, they have a whole training camp to build up new chemistry.

People care to much about team chemistry. As long as the player coming in isnt a douche bag I dont care who goes out. No one cares about team chemistry as long as they are winning. That said I loved Wright on special teams but that is all he could do. He never lined up at WR and we had very few WR's. I would rather have gotten rid of Wright and kept Trusnik earlier in the year because I think he was even better than Wright. Oh well glad we have old westy because as long as he is here im not worried. Well not worried as long as Danny Woodhead isnt on ST anymore. Hes just awful.

We still have Brad Smith. I think we'll be fine.

I'm pretty sure I read that James Ihedigbo was our leading special teams tackler last year and he isn't one dimensional like WW is. I'm confident Westhoff can find someone to replace him.

Reading some of these comments makes it seem like we lost Revis via FA. Its Wallace Wright, a player good for ST ONLY. They come dime a dozen. He was good, but certainly not irreplaceable.

He probably would've only been our #6 WR next year, but damn, we're going to miss him on special teams. I wish him the best in Carolina though, he should get playing time at WR for them.
