Nobody is going to give the Jets a second for Leon in the '10 season.

Lets not forget Greene was a projected (by many) round 2 RB. Taken with what the first pick of the 3rd round? If we need a back my uniformed opinion is get one in or after the 5th round.

Im still not sold on the losing TJ, nothing is official now.

We've got two young talents at halfback. There are a lot of other spots on the roster which are in much, much greater need of an infusion of youth than halfback. Draft picks need to be spent on the offensive and defensive lines primarily.

I'm hoping to see the Jets pick up a halfback in free agency. Draft picks are in too short a supply to spend one where we've already got two good young players.

And to the people suggesting the Jets should pick up Blount or Toby Gerhardt, if that's what you want, you should start hoping the Jets decide to keep Jones and trade Greene, because thats about the only way the Jets are likely to invest a first or second rounder in the position.

Or theyre hoping that Leons 2nd round tender gets picked up elsewhere ? Which imo guarantees we take a halfback in the first 2 maybe 3 rounds.

Yeah, me too. Rudy Woodhead is only gonna be needed as an emergency RB or for the occasional trick play. Perhaps pre-game motivator. I do appreciate his energy though. He was fun to watch in the preseason.

I think Leon and Greene can handle at least 15 carries a piece...We really only need a day 2 RB, not Spiller or any big guns. I'm not gonna worry about the RB position.

I think they can handle 15 carries per game. I'm just doubting their(mostly Greene's) ability to handle 16 games per season.

I disagree, but I suppose you can never be too careful.

I think people are putting too much weight into future injuries. Do players get injured? Yes. But that doesn't mean we need 4 very good HB's on our team. I'm content with Leon and Shonn for now with Chauncey as a backup. I think TJ, as good as he was for this team, was a byproduct of our tremendous offensive line. For all we know we can plug a punter into the backfield and he can run for +1000 yds this next season. Hell, Weatherford probably had a couple hundred yards rushing with his fakes.

Lets use the first couple of draft picks we have (remember we're short on picks this year) on more important needs like a DE/DB. If we use the first pick on a RB then yes, we improve on our running game. BUT, we already have the best rushing attack statistically following the season. It's just the law of diminishing returns here. We can improve it, but by how much? Our line is incredible. Plug Chauncey in there and I promise you he'll be fine.

Greene already had one injury that kept him on the inactive list for the Texans game, only had 4 carries in the Saints game before he had to be pulled thanks to injury, and was forced to leave the AFCC because of a rib injury. I love Greene's game and what he can do for the Jets, but he is an injury concern going into the next season.

We don't need 4 good halfbacks, but it sure was nice having 3.

More like "brittle and frail." I hope they bring in a reliable 3rd RB just in case.

Yeah totally! Since breaking your leg in half happens often. When was Leon injured prior to that freak incident? Gimme a break.

also the jets game will revolve more around Sanchez this year. That means less carries for the backs.

Mark threw 364 times this season. Next season I'm sure he will hit a bit over 400.

I hope we don't throw TOO much. I don't trust Sanchez yet. Anything over 450 and we might be in trouble.

Of one thing I'm sure... TJ was NOT worth 6 mill this season. We can debate if he was worth 4 or 2 but sure as hell not 6!

That said I think someone will emerge for the #3 RB spot and no doubt he'll have success in his role... I just hope he is a 220+ lbs guy because we cannot waste Greene to bruise the opposing D... he is very agile and I don't want to see him break down because we don't have another power back.

I'd like to see C. Washington win the #3 RB spot... he can be useful on ST and I think if h can stay healthy he can be a good #3 RB...

I also wouldn't mind signing TJ once he realizes no one will offer him the money or the role he wants... he still is a valuable leader and can be serviceable on a limited number of carries.

We need another hard-running HB on the roster. Its gonna be hard to run the ground and pound again this year without another punishing runningback. Although i suppose just about anyone is as punishing as TJ was last year. The opposing defenses did get worn out tackling him for all those no gains, though.

I predict atleast 25 attempts every game.
