Good call on Bell. He's versatile enough to play both halfback and fullback as well, which is a valuable thing to have in case Richardson breaks down or doesn't come back. While I'd have no problem with a big name like LT or Westbrook, I'd rather the 3rd back to be versatile enough to either play fullback or special teams.
I would have a major problem with either of those names. LT's legs are about as useful FDR's and Westbrook is one big hit away from a long period of media coverage about his family having to decide whether or not to pull the plug on his feeding tube. We got rid of a healthier HB than either of those two, why bring in someone with worse health concerns?
Will someone just give Woodhead steroids already. I want to see him at around 240 lbs by the time the season starts and I want to see him get angryyy!
If Woodhead gets to be 240lbs by the start of the season, he will more likely be suffering from diabetic-obesity-induced depression than have rage issues.
Meh. We don't need more running backs. With TJ gone, Schotty can be free to really open up his playbook of dozens of reverses. And I can pull my hairout.
I think you are underestimating the very real gun Rex is probably holding on him at certain points on the sidelines.
I really doubt we will be able to go the whole season with both Washington and Greene healthy for every game. It isn't a safe bet. I'm not saying we need to sign a Chris Johnson quality back, just get someone who is serviceable and isn't horrible. Someone to spell whichever one of them isn't hurt, even if its someone they already have on the roster. These Jets need a third back. Hopefully that, combined with more of a passing game will get us through. Maybe its a possibility that we could pick up someone later in the year should the need arise, but there might be slim pickins by then.
5th round pick. Trade down in 1st or 2nd. Trade Rhodes for a 3rd, 4th, or 5th rounder. I would be happy with bringing in a HB through any of those means.
It was a joke. Anyone who thinks danny woodhead can play RB on any NFL team is drunk. He looks like he would be small on a high school team.
I'm concerned about the durability of Greene to be able to carry the load for us. I'd prefer us to bring back Jones or sign Portis if he becomes available than to rely on Greene for the entire season
If we are going to suggest old names for an insurance policy in case Greene gets injured, can we at least avoid names that have been injured consistently injured for the past few seasons? Portis would offer pretty much the same benefits Greene would with a greater risk.
Bell if it's a bargain, which could be possible with the other guys on the board. If not, then the draft.
I'd like to see the jets draft a fullback who can also run, and re-sign Richardson to a 1 year deal. Richardson can mentor the young back as well as remain a productive blocker.
Portis wouldn't be expected to carry the entire load here. Why don't you relax a little. Portis did not miss any playing time in 2007 or 2008.
