they can have him....but cough up a draft pick.....a 4th could probably do it.....since this is the Pats, they'll get the Pats discount...2 second rounders

Of course they are. TJ is a RB over 30 years old.

My first reaction was "hell No" but then I thought if the price is right lets say a 3rd and 5th in this draft. I could see us doing that.

I think TJ has been very good for us but he slowed down late this season and it showed.

I bet the article says they will pick him up if he gets cut. Can't see them giving us anything, he's the type of player they used to have, strong veteran presence, I hope he doesn't go there

The Pats aren't going to trade for him...TJ doesn't have any trade value. He's a 30+ yr old RB.

Besides, why would the Pats trade for TJ when they could sign LT for nothing

it makes sense for the Pats too.....Maroney is a fumbling machine, and TJ is just the opposite. I could see how Belichump would be enamored with Jones for that alone...nevemind the fact he has a hard-on for veteran players.

I have a hard time seeing the Jets tradding him but if he was cut I bet they'd take a looksie but I'd say it's far from a done deal.

BTW how can they say they are interested in a player that is currently under contract w/o it being tampering? It's probably speculation by some NESPN homer.

Prefer to hang onto TJ, and draft another HB . If we lose any HB it will be Leon

If I were the Pats, I'd want a run-first rival like the Jets to hold onto an aging back with a ton of carries over the past 6 seasons as long as they could.

If TJ went to New England, behind that offensive line, the Jets would hold him to 40 yards a game.

There are many, many teams that would want Thomas Jones if he hit the market. He's inexplicably become something of a scapegoat for Jets fans, but the guy is a durable, proven veteran leader who takes care of the ball and wears down defenses.

His age and cap figure mean that nobody would want to trade for him, but if he got cut plenty of teams would want him. He'd make a great replacement for Chester Taylor in Minny or for LT in San Diego.

Who is using him as a scapegoat? He is an aging back and a smart team does not pay a guy in his situation starting money when it's obvious that his starting days are very close to being behind him.

Of course his services would be in demand if he hit the open market. But he would not be making even close to the money he is under his current contract. If he is willing to restructure into more of a platoon role, I'd love to have the guy back.
