Its over. Patrick is happy for the chance to compete. He is also happy to be out of Washington as he didnt think he had any chance there He and Chad are always talking and helping each other grasp the playbook. He remains friends with Brunell. The a bunch of stuff about New Orleans since he went to Tulane. I think he was calling from there as well and then what teams he thought did well with the draft and who would improve. (Houston)
Hey Buttleman...usually when a poster starts a thread like this, they wait 1 or 2 hours before telling anyone anything. Geeesh Buttleman...get with the program!
The herd is the best sports radio show on the air, period. If you don't get 'it' that's fine, but insulting him only causes me to question your motives. The guy talks football 12 months a year. As for the interview, I heard it on the way to work. Ramsey said all the right things, but his answers regarding his relationship with Brunell, and now Pennington, spoke volumes about how he is a team player.
Gotta agree with Fen. The herd is a great show, the only talk radio show that I care enough about to remember when it is so I can listen to it.
It's a good radio show because he has a good personality, but I read something a few months ago that absolutely trashed him because he called Canseco and Orel Hershiser hall of famers, and he trashed OPS and ERA+ and other statistics like that. That's just ignorant.
I hate baseball, so OPS is foreign to me, and I have no idea what the + after ERA means, though ERA is an almost useless statistic, not that I honestly care.
I like The Herd, but you can't take anything he says with anything more than a grain of salt. He knows a little about everything, but only know a lot about Football, and specifically College Football. I appreciate his social commentary but his sports knowledge is a little limited. And he admits that on the air. He's stated before that he'd rather be interesting than a "sports nerd". It's an interesting and good show, but I questions his general sports knowledge.
He's an encyclopedia when it comes to football, but has only average knowledge of other sports. I listen because he's entertaining, well, and because he talks football everyday.
I wonder what is worse, a guy like Herd who readily admits limited knowledge. Or a guy who comes on and thinks he knows everything about sports, but really doesn't. Then, he will never admit to being wrong or even consider a different point of view, like Mike Francessa.
