If you take Walter Jones off the Seahawks they struggle to make the playoffs and struggle in the weak NFC west.

We would be throwing $$ away...we already have a LT, in case you didnt know his name is Adrian Jones. He also makes alot less than D'Brick and has some NFL Experance...Oh yeah HE WAS OUR BEST O-LINEMAN Last Year!! Im not saying I dont like D'Brick but what to do with a guy who could be just as good? This is why we are in cap hell, we need a RT and if D'Brick can play RT at a prowl Bowl level im all for the pick..that is the problem with picking BPA.

Its like the Redskins Drafting Reggie Bush...Y would they do it they have Clinton Portis? I know thats and extreem example but Jones has the potential to be as good as portis

of course i thought of the other linemen in the draft. Im not thinking we draft Ferguson and thats it, problem solved. Im not oblivious to the other talent available. I just dont think the other LTs in the draft are in the same league as Ferguson. My view is that with where we are positioned in the draft, we can take the best olinemen available at their position. We can end up with an elite tackle with our 1st, the best OG with our 2nd and best C with our 3rd. I think if we draft Cutler, thats bumps us down a bit when it comes to drafting linemen, because were gonna end up with the 3rd or 4th best LT with our 2nd, the 4th or 5th best G, etc.

Its not like i hate Cutler. If he was availabe in the later rounds, id be for it. The way I see it, is that Ferguson has a better chance at being a Pace/Ogden/Jones(not necessarily them but close to their league) elite LT player than Cutler can be a top tier QB like Favre to a lesser extent Delhomme or Hasslebeck.

Name the LT's taken in the top ten since 2000, and tell me how many went to the pro bowl. You don't take a LT in the top five unless you are certain he's a future pro bowler. People think it's some kind of automatic that Ferguson will be a franchise tackle..... he may be, but it's far, far from certain.

And thats exactly the reason why they will probably have to let Shawn go...THEY CAT AFFORD the left side of their line and a RB. Why start that process with a high draft pick LT. Let the LT earn his money and then pay him...dont just give it to him based on potential...WE SHOULD NOT DRAFT D'BRICK

Finally, someone who gets it. We should get rid of those OLers except Mawae; they clog up salaries we could be paying franchise QBs and HBs.

Next year, here's hoping we have an offensive formation that consists of Mawae, 6 QBs (Leinart, Cutler, Young, Marcus Vick, Aaron Brooks, and Brodie Croyle) and 6 HBs (Bush, D'Angelo Williams, LenDale White, Laurence Maroney, LaMont Jordan, and that guy with the revolver in "The Last Boy Scout.") Which QB gets the handoff? Which HB does he hand off to? You don't need blockers when defenses are totally confused, and fearful of the awesome speed assembled before them.

I know some people may wonder about the Jets getting all these players, but that's where trading John Abraham is so helpful. He gets us three, four of them all by himself.
