    Saints | W. Allen waived
    Thu, 18 May 2006 16:56:50 -0700

NewOrleansSaints.com reports the New Orleans Saints have waived rookie free agent OG Will Allen.

This guy started for Texas & helped protect Vince Young. Can develop nicely on Jets'....maybe even on practice squad until he's ready. He's a big guy.

" OG 14.....Will Allen SR 6-6/315/- Texas Houston, TX "

He was ranked #14 coming out of college at his position. Saints are deep at O-Line position.

Wow. You really sold me there.

Who'd have ever thought that a "big guy" would ever play offensive line?

    This guy must be good.

No need to belittle him becuase he said hes a big guy. He gave more reasons then "hes a big guy" why the Jets should sign him.

They need to find and groom the heir apparent for Kendall. But I think they can wait until next year's draft, and get better value.

Ever think that he got cut by the New Orleans Saints for a legit reason? He just can't cut it, eh... he isn't good enough?

    I know.. I know, far-fetched, but just a hunch.

    I noticed his other "reasons".

They included: "Was helpful in protecting Vince Young". Okay, but that is college, not pro.

And "Can develop nicely on the Jets"... How can anyone know that? Did he give any proof behind that statement? Did he show me any stats? No.

He got what he could have expected.

Hey Mr. Dum-Dum.....Just because you post alot, doesn't mean you have anything worthwhile to say. Jets' are weak at guard position & I figured Jets' could give him a look see. He's a undrafted free-agent. Would cost Jets' nothing.:breakdance:

I would not say we are set at guard. We are need of someone to take Moore's spot and another gaurd to be the eventual hier for Kendal's spot. While Mangold might end up taking Moore's spot this year its likely he will eventually end up moving to center. We really could use 2 good guards whther its for depth, challenge for a position, or to groom for a future spot.

he's not good enough to cut it, will be a fringe depth player at best, we won't add him

If this guy was any good he would not have been cut in mini camp.

What do you have against Moore? He's played very well since the first day he started, is young, and has a long term, cap friendly contract. He'll fit in nicely between Mangold and Jones on the right side. We do need an heir for Kendall though.

Here I disagree. He has not shown much as a starter and is a below average player. Don't be supriosed in Mangold starts at RG this year and moore sits with Teague at center.

Shame because he could have had a career. If he did become available he would be a good pick up , but it sounds as though hes made his mind up if what your saying is true. Hmm Saints have no cap issues huh?
