One of my favorite lines I heard all year was when Bart Scott said Ellis plays like "his hair is on fire". Ellis is the man its going to be a sad day when that dude retires.
Word. Ellis should be on the same level as every other non-HOF Jet that is beloved by all. No one has been as consistent as Ellis. Even when Herm tried to ruin his career.
This should be a wake up call for Mike Tannenbaum...it's time to rebuild that defensive line NOW, Mike. I'm glad the Big Katt's injury wasn't too bad, but when he got injured in the playoffs, it was very clear how thin our rotation was. Mike DeVito can't rotate in all by himself.
If we can get a solid guy in the draft and bring back Douglas we'd have a really nice defensive line. Still a bit on the old side but def. deep
I'm much more worried about his knees. Bones break and heal with no future concequences... when knees start swelling up on a regulare basis THEN you have a problem. Ellis IMO has one more season in him... maybe two if someone can spell him on a regualr basis. Getting a DE is a priority in this draft.
