Ya know what I would love... to know where to send my $5 check to help cover Coach Ryan's fine... not that he needs my charity, but I'd find it funny if the fans kicked it in for him.
LOL Dude, are you worried that you're not in the lead for Least Knowledgeable Poster award, and that's why you're now making last ditch efforts to win some votes? You're funny.
I think he needs to represent the NFL whenever he's in the public eye. If Rex was out to dinner with his wife and some Pats fan got in his face, I would have no problem with him cold-cocking the guy. But Rex called attention to himself at an event with alcohol, cameras, and lots of people. He also did so in an antagonistic manner (he did say something like "we're going to beat you twice next year" right?). If he's going to draw attention to himself in this kind of venue he needs to be prepared to keep his cool for the entire night. I think he can whatever he wants in his private life, but when he draws attention to himself he needs to act in a certain manner. He deserves the fine he gets and he should pay it (which he is) and move on (which some on this board apparently don't want him to do).
Wow. So this is what it would look like if Raiderjoe took an English class while keeping his severe degree of retardation. The NFL wouldn't "try" to fine him, they would. Easily. The rule he violated is the personal conduct policy. Americans do not have every right to flip the bird. Read a contract that most employees sign, regardless of field of employ, in regards to conduct and harassment and you'll see what I mean. The NFL would win that lawsuit. In summation, I would like to remind you that you are a raging dumbass and next time you're about to post you should slow down, think, and then not post.
Based on Glazer's interview.... and the facts being unearthed, Rex should have been given a medal for only giving him the finger. D-Rex rules!! Can't wait for the Miami beatdowns next year. Hope that fan is there to suck on them too. :finssuck:
Just heard that Rex was spit on multiple times. This certainly makes his behavior MUCH more understandable (I would have taken a swing at the guy) but it still doesn't make his behavior acceptable. He took a microphone and announced who he was and had attention to draw to him; the moment he did that he became a representative for the NFL. If he was at the event of his own accord and was harassed and flipped the guy off it would be different. He changed the parameters of his evening when he drew attention to himself, in my eyes.
If this is the case then the individual in question should face some kind of punitive measures while Rex should have his fine lessened but not completely revoked.
The idiots on this thread who think the Jets or the NFL have any standing to fine a coach under these circumstances have their feet planted in thin air. Its all BS. There is no personal conduct policy that requires people to be harrassed, threatened and spit upon - especially at a non NFL event. Apparently some of you are too lazy or stupid to realize that flipping a bird isn't a crime at all and isn't even covered by the NFL personal conduct policy. So sorry clueless morons - Rex could and should challenge this action and he would win on numerous grounds. The fact that you pigeons are too stupid to know that Rex has every right to flip a bird at an asshole drunk who had been harrassing him all night is frankly hilarious.
You have to be kidding....right? No one is saying that it is a "crime". Ochocinco got fined for wearing a sombrero. Show me in the NFL policy where it says you can't wear a sombrero on the sideline. It's not there. I'm willing to bet that Woody and Rex talked about this in person, and Woody laid out the options: The organization can fine you or we can wait to see what the NFL will decide to do. Rex, like any other coach, picked the first option.
theres also little doubt here that the "fine" is just a technicality to keep rex's nfl standing clean. by that i mean if something happens down the road they can look and say, "oh well hes never been in trouble with the league before" and his penalty is lessened. that money is going to a charity or not even actually being taken from rex, in all likelihood.
The Dolphins could have signed Drew Brees, and chose to sign Daunte Culpepper instead. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Congratulations SFB. Are you actually this stupid or is this just an act to remind us that most giants fans are idiots? You have no clue WTF you are talking about. Rex didn't violate the NFL personal conduct policy moron. Have you even bothered to read that policy einstein or are you just talking out your butt like usual? Come back when you have the slightest clue about what you are talking about giantsboy. Rex should refuse to pay any fine from the Jets or the NFL. He should flip them both the bird. He has no reason to pay a dime to anybody over this ridiculous incident. Only an idiot would think otherwise.
The Jets could fine Rex for wearing too tight of pants if they wanted to. If he fights it and says he isnt paying they can say ok you lose your job. Rex just wants to put the event behind him and Im sure he is on the same page as Woody. So lets all ignore the crazy ramblings of Abdul and put this thread to rest.
Maybe you should just calm down. I'm sure that if Rex Ryan thought he was being jobbed over this he would file a grievance. He doesn't appear to be someone who would take shit needlessly. I'm sure he doesn't need YOU defending him. I'm sure 50k isn't going to put much of a dent in his bottom line. Of course the fine is bullshit. We live in a politically correct world where "image" is everything.
Maybe you should just stop worrying about other people and focus on your own ludicrous postings. The fine is bullshit. Paying the fine is bullshit. I would love to see Rex refuse to pay the fine. What are the Jets gonna do about it if he refuses to pay?
