except at least McCariens keeps his mouth shut and works...and shows up to camp/workouts/etc edit: besides Mike Williams and Charles Rogers will be on their way out of Detroit within the next season (one probably before or during, the other next offseason)...if I'm gonna take a chance with a problem child, it'd be one of them over Lelie
Trade for somebody. It's on this year. Jerry Rice is coming back.....Him and Fielder will make a great combo for the Jests.
To be honest i dont know how much he is asking, but the numbers he puts up he should know how much he is worth, which is a tiny bit above average, if we are asking to trade for him, then he must have some type of contract left, which probably is cheap for now. We traded for ramsey with one year left, why not for lelie, this would be strategy, make our recievers work harder, and get better faster, if he pans out then hey we have a WR, if it doesnt he can go to free agency.
I would mabey trade MaCariens just because of my dislike for the man as a player... but otherwise nothing. Lellie has been known to fake penalties... look at the most recent one against the patriots, he held samuels arm and pushed himself away from samuel with his own arm (lellies not samuels) and samuel did not do anything himself but it is called as something over 40 yards pass interference of samuel which resulted in a Broncos touchdown and ultimately cost the Pats the game
Another day, another trade possibility...that makes very little sense. You do realize he is going to want a new contract with the new team he is on, don't you? I think the position of 'has potential, but still unproven' receiver role has been filled. I'll pass.
Lelie is a scrub, he thinks he is way better than he is and is all mad cause he knows walker is way better so let him sit in denver and cry about it i dont want him on this team.
"I'm thinking it would be McCariens Part Deux" Maybe, but at least McCariens is not a duschbag. He tries, but he just seems like he doest have enough skills to hold on to the ball consistantly. At least thats what it has seemed like to me.
He was bitching before the Broncos traded for Walker. He wants a new contract and the Broncos didnt want to negotiate. They brought in Walker knowing that Lelie wasnt going to be part of the team. Broncos had give Lelie permission to seek out a trade prior to the draft but no one bit.
i wouldnt give up anything in the first 4 rds for him. hes a track star with avg hands at best. although he is one of the biggest deep threats in the game today. but that is just pretty on paper, otherwise someone wouldve made a move.
You must be new at this trolling thing because you kinda suck at it. Do you want to discuss the Phins before last season, when the Jets and Phins positions were reversed? Yeah didn't think so. And Brain Boy, the Jets released Fiedler. If you are going to troll, please make an effort to be competent.
no no no, why would we go out and get another #3 wide reciever we already have 2 of them at #1 and #2 as a WR corp i think the jets can do well TOGETHER but we need one standout guy to make it to the next level, look next years draft or FA next year.
That's because he's paid. Lelie is making his rookie contract...JMac is quiet and does what he does, because he can just look at his bank account.
Yeah, I dont get why Mike Williams is trade bait already. Hes only had 1 yr under his belt and he was a high 1st rounder and the Lions are already willing to part ways with the kid?! I can understand Rogers, but I dont get why Mike Williams is expendable after 1 year. Can anyone explain this, I dont follow the Lions.
Because Millen is an idiot and has no idea what he is doing. He probably realized that using high 1st rounders in 4 years on a QB and 3 WRs consecutively is a bad idea when your D and STs are crap. If Williams is up on the block I say yes. Rogers has too many injuries too early in his career.
NO No no...had him on my fantasy team last year, so i watched a few denver games. I saw nothing I liked...well, he did have breakaway speed, but he and jake never seemed to be able to connect, but I'm not sure whose fault it was. Jake didn't seem too accurate on the long ball and he never managed to haul it in. I don't think he is what we are looking for, although he does have the speed to spread the field, maybe b.smith can fill that role without breaking the bank.
Mike Williams is like Keyshawn Johnson, but just a little bit better in every measurable catagory, but WITHOUT the attitude. Williams was one of the nicest team players on the planet at USC, and would be nothing short of a MONSTER addition to this team. If Detroit becomes that stupid anytime soon, we have to make a move for him.
He played last year at 240+ pounds, and was way out of shape. Granted he missed a year of football but he's been a slacker, besides being out of shape he showed up late to numerous meetings and put in minimum effort. He's lazy and he didn't have great speed while he WAS in shape. Rogers has other problems, mainly a bit of attitude, a history of shoulder problems now, and had a run-in with the NFL's substance program. However he was unfairly benched last season in order to avoid paying out massive bonus's, and he kept quiet about that so he still may be able to be worked with and set back on the right path, just that probably can't happen in Detroit. JMac never bitched with the Titans either. He's a good guy, and I'm sure Herm really wanted him, so in turn he had Bradway overpay for the guy. Lelie is a primadonna who doesn't have the requisite skills to get paid and play like he wants to. Oddly I had no idea how Walker went behind him (granted Walker was more raw in terms of football period, but the guy was great in college and I knew he was only going to improve over time...but talking about him goes into other stories way off-topic so blah)
