watching the COLTS-JAGS game live (endzone view) Clark went off that game. They lined him up all over the place, and made mismatches, out across the middle and down the field like a WR. Stopping him will be key. All the Charger hype about "multiple weapons" pales in comparison to the Colts imo.
I think Revis will do his job against Wayne. However, if you watch the first time they matched up, Revis had some trouble staying on Wayne. I even remember one specific route in which Revis got turned around by Wayne; I don't think I've ever seen that happen. The good news is that Revis hadn't faced Wayne before and Revis is a film geek; I expect him to be all over Wayne this game, now having some familiarity and film on covering him. I'm most concerned about who will be covering Garcon. If it's not Lito, Manning is going to find him for possibly a home-run play.
Haha. I only wish we could do that on a regular basis. We were doing well against you guys though in the first half on Dec 17th. A lot of Colts fans think that Addai is suffering from a nagging shoulder injury that keeps him from lowering his upper body in a commanding way. Personally I think he just sucks. He's fantastic at picking up the blitz and he has good hands too, however. His TD pass to Reggie this year in the 49ers game was a thing of beauty. :breakdance:
Manning also missed Clark on a 3rd down where he was WIDE open and dropped a 20 yard back shoulder pass on the first drive. Clark was smoking the hell out of our defense when we played the Colts. Like I said before the first game, Ryan better find an answer. We weren't prepared to stop the Colts offense at all when we played, like I said, all-out blitzing doesn't work vs. Manning. You need to be extremely creative and confuse him, get a lucky deflection here or there and were in business.
Frankly I'm more concerned with Collie than I am with Clark. Manning's got a ridiculous amount of weapons.
Yeah, he's not an intimidating runner by any stretch of the imagination. HOWEVER, he's a big-play threat if he's in space or out on the edge or with a screen pass, etc -- not to mention, he can even go the distance between the tackles (like he did in the first meeting) when the Colts spread out the D.
Sheppard needs to be a lot more physical with Collie at the line than he was last time. If he doesn't disrupt those routes it's going to be another long day for him.
