Raiders | Team now has seventh pick in the NFL Draft Fri, 24 Feb 2006 13:37:20 -0800 ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Oakland Raiders lost the coin flip with the San Francisco 49ers and they now have the seventh pick in the first round of the April NFL Draft
in the age of salary cap, and draft orders, and difficulty of schedule generators, i love how we decide this by a coin flip
This screws up a lot of mocks... Well at least now most likely the Raiders won't get one of the top 2 defensive players, Hawk or Williams.
i have this brilliant idea....................how about...............NO.....................we have the 4th pick in the draft and we need to use it.....................u cant have a sucky year then have a middle round pick.............one high pick is better then 2 mediums
obviously your knowlege of the draft is limited...and why does every one of kelly's post have nothing to do with the jets?????sorry, just grumpy today
This is wicked old news and has been posted 3 times already. Had it been posted in the proper forum (I know this is a difficult one, where does it go? NCAA/Draft or NFL forum? Decisions decisions.) you would have seen it already. This is why this forum is reaching a pure chaotic state.
trader down is a good deal now cause we can taked Cutler at 6. Befour we had to worry about Oakland takin him...
hopefully SF want's hawk because they may lose peterson, so they trade up with us in fear that GB will take him
Exactly...The coin flip could be very well for us. SF up to get Hawk, GB not needing a QB and then we can take Cutler at 6 and save us some money and get some picks... Can'[t go past Oakland if we want Culer because they might take him...
Well now since Oakland is likely looking to trade up, if we trade down with Oakland then we'd likely have our choice between Cutler and Deangelo: Texans- Bush Saints- Leinart Titans- Young Raiders- Hawk Packers- M. Williams 49ers- D'Brick Jets- Cutler/D. Williams
In a draft like this there is 8 or 9 guys that are top tier talent and then there's a lot of depth with great players... so if we trade to 7 we still get a top tier player and then we're able to pick up a 2nd rounder.
Why are they likely looking to trade up? Link? BTW 9ers picked up Jonas Jennings last year in FA, so in that scenario, DBrick would drop to the Bills
I am unfamiliar with this situation. What's the deal? San Fran has 2 first round picks? Or they were tied and there was a flip for the spot....? I don't understand but I think I may have just answered my own question.
Yes! We finally get to screw the Raiders for screwing us last year. Damn you Jolley. Oh wait a minute. I'm a Jets fan. This will never happen it makes too much sense.
Once again you post something that has absolutely nothing to do with the Jets. Are you really that dumb? I wonder if you could beat Young on the test they give. A seven maybe? Put this in the NFL Forum where it belongs.
IF Raiders trade up in draft than most likely its for DE Mario Williams.(get in front of Packers) Al Davis and raiders don't usually value the Lb position ,as important as Dline and Cb position. Also this is a very strong LB class both in Fa and in the draft. IF Im the Raiders I sign FA LB Will Witherspoon(the coverage lb they desperastely need) WLB W witherspoon, MLB D Clark/K morrison SSLB Sam Williams is very impressive Lb corp. Then you free to do anything you want in draft.
