With Ellis having a broken hand how much of an impact can he make? We are already down with Jenkins and this might sound crazy but maybe giving VG a shot on passing downs might not be a bad idea. he is fresh and all he needs to do is rush the passer. It is amazing the Jets have done such a remarkable job considering they don't have a legit pass rusher like Allen or Freeney. Man, if we could get a dominant pass rusher we would be scary good. Anyway, I feel confident we can take this game, just a little concerned about the DL.

With that thing wrapped up in a cast, you can do some damage by smashing that thing into people. It's basically a legal weapon.

this has been mentioned in another thread... but i agree with the VG part. as for ellis, he wasn't too effective bc he wasn't used to having a club hand... i think he'll be fine by game time. he'll have an entire week to learn what he can and can't do with that thing. also mentioned in that other thread, was how well devito filled in in ellis' absence. so i think we'll be fine. having said that, it would be nice to see VG line up in a position that doesn't require him to think, and perhaps get his value up so we can offload his worthless ass.

We have enough guys to get the job done. The line is not as important as our DB's this week anyway.

We have Howard Green and Mike Devito who both played great while subbing in and out with Sean Ellis, Marques Douglas, and Sione Pouha. And Sean Ellis will play so we're fine.

Rex said they're going to try and get him a cast that allows him to use his fingers better, so hopefully he can be more effective this week.

Oh yeah, I heard that too. Forgot about that, that must hurt like a mofo with it broken.

Might see him popping some oxy's come gametime.

I don't know why but I keep having this vision of Gholston making a huge play in this game. If the Jets are going to win, I think it would take some weird, fluky twist of fate like Vernon Gholston actually having an impact.

That reminded me of how Kevin Mawae used his cast.
