At this point of the season, the Jets offense appeares more efficient than the Ravens. The Ravens were a one trick pony. Rice or nothing. Flacco and the recievers didn't do anything to help defenders stay honest and respect the pass. The Jets are a ground team but play off that to make pass plays. Rolling Sanchez, play action should generate enough to keep their quick D honest.
Colts have a strong D....you guys have a strong D... They have Peyton Manning, you guys have Mark Sanchez. It's gonna come down to whether Sanchez makes the rookie mistake all the experts will expect out of him. I've said in numerous posts, I wouldn't bet against the jets D right now..it's gonna come down to whether your offense controls and manages the game well.
And the o didn't even get a first down till midway through the second quarter! I think the Jets need to hang (no more than 10 points down) going into halftime and they at least have a chance. The o seems to get better and better as the game goes on
I think the coaches will learn alot from the Ravens/Colts game since we are very similar to the Ravens. I think we do have the recipe to win this game. Three things gotta happen though; stop Dallas Clark, pressure Manning, and for Sanchez to be efficient and not turn the ball over and the Jets can win this game through a low scoring affair.
This game will come down to which former Hawkeye... has a better game Shonn Greene or Dallas Clark. I think SG explodes & the JETS are Miami bound!!!
In the Colts-Jets game in week 16, Jones and Greene (particularly Greene) were getting good gains on the ground even before the Colts began resting their starters. We'll have a much better time running the ball next week than we did today. That's going to be our key because the Colts have a very precise offense that can easily orchestrate pre-snap adjustments to our blitz packages. We're gonna need a Dolphins vs Colts type of game (where the defense makes a stop or two). I have a hunch though that our defense will bait Manning into making bad pre-snap adjustments this time around.
what i love about this is that Rex can review that tape and dissect exactly what they did wrong and adjust to it...make no mistake about it, the Colts are going after us the exact same way they went after the Ravens...we get a look into their gameplan... major advantage Jets
The Colts go after every team the same way. Duh. I wouldn't call that a "major advantage" for the Jets. Your pass rush and blitz packages will just leave receivers open for the quick release of Manning on easy dump off passes. Did you not watch the first half of our meeting in the regular season?
If Payton cracks the defence early it's gonna be a long day. Sanchez isint winning a shootout with manning.
Your best bet is for Sanchez to pick on Jennings all game long, and take advantage of other corners giving too much cushion. And THEN you have to survive the second half, but from watching you guys this year, and in the game against the Chargers you are a second half team as well. It'll be a fun game I think. And the best part is that neither of us makes stupid mistakes... Aside from that absolutely ridiculous decision in the 4th to pooch kick it. You're real lucky that didn't come back to haunt your team.
I think if our D can contain Green and Jones we will win. I just can't see Sanchez winning this game with his arm.
A few years ago, I would have shot you down. In the new stadium? You just may be right. The Chargers fans have a much more intimidating faction to them than they used to. A lot more like NAC than it should be, which is sad.
Desperation is a stinky cologne my friend... If you think the Colts need crowd noise to win a game, you definitely got another thing coming.
